Asking a YEC to give a straight answer is not only asking for something they can not give but in my opinion they should not give, for them to remain true to their beliefs it is imperative that they keep reality as far away from their beliefs as possible, religions were not designed to be mixed with reality so creationism should be kept well out of it's reach.

Creationism is simply a better model to fit the facts that we find. Reality is the actual facts, which are embraced in total. How history handled the facts is totally assumption.
