I remember when people smoked cigarettes anywhere and everywhere, on airplanes, in elevators, in hospitals. etc.
And I remember when 'No Smoking' areas were implemented in the restaurants.I remember when people smoked cigarettes anywhere and everywhere, on airplanes, in elevators, in hospitals. etc.
I remember moms wild and crazy assortment of glass vases, which I had the responsibility of always dusting on the regular as a part of weekly chores. Having to hold them and dust every crease and crevice was truly fun for me and interesting. Never mind that mom would be playing vinyl on the stereo to help us with having energy to keep up all the weekly cleaning, there we were listening to "The Age of Aquarius" while humming around the house, with incense burning on the Budda she had. This kept me greatly influenced to having an open mind and to being very accepting of all peoples and religions at that time in my life.
I truly was a believer in everything being groovy! I liked life and swinging and moving around being happy to music.
Dancing with the broom while sweeping was a thing!
No such thing as cleaning out the hairbrush without using it as a "microphone" to sing songs
It was a sweetness and innocence, brought about by music interpreted by mom as a reason to celebrate and to do chores or anything else that came up

I remember doing the same ... only we paid to go in and see the 'bearded lady'.I remember carnival "freak shows". I'm not proud of it, but as kids a friend and I once paid 50 cents just to look at conjoined (Siamese) twins.
We went in to see the "snake lady". It was a lady in a dark room sitting in a black box with only her head exposed, and a large fake snake wrapped around her neck. It was supposed to look like a snake with the head of a lady, lol. A couple of men made crude comments about that.I remember doing the same ... only we paid to go in and see the 'bearded lady'.
I was young then. I thought it was a joke (fake). But researching it now, I see that yes, there are bearded women ... they have a condition called hirsutism.

Well we were kids, and they had this really realistic artwork depicting a snake lady on the outside of the place. We had to find out. We got suckered in.I guess we were easily entertained back then ... a bit gullible, too!![]()
