I'm 99% sure I have covid 19 although a test hasn't proven that I have it yet, I have to get my doctor to order a test tomorrow. But I have a vast majority of the symptoms. Ive lost my sense of smell, im coughing up mucus every 3-4 minutes, ive had this unexplainable headache on and off since being "exposed", im very fatigued right now, i have a fever, I dont feel like eating (which is SO not like me I'm ALWAYS eating im SO addicted to food in fact im so nauseous I dont think ill feel like eating all day today), I've had these unexplainable chills for almost a week now (its like 74 degrees in the house), im having difficulty breathing.... just the whole 9 yards.

Not to mention there was a large outbreak of covid 19 in my hospital right around the time of my colonoscopy. A lot of the nurses, patients, and doctors have covid and the outbreak was discovered the day after my surgery. I had a very large fever in the hospital that day and the nurse suspected i had covid that day but besides a fever I had no other symptoms. So they went on with the surgery.

My faith is being put to the ultimate test. While im very sure I have COVID 19 (how can I have like 95% of the symptoms posted by the department of health this isn't a regular cold or flu. Ive NEVER been sick like this before in my life) I thought God had more plans for me than to die at the age of 34 from an outbreak he created. And yes, im at high risk for developing serious complications. I have high blood pressure, im morbidly obese, have many health issues just... uggh.

I want prayers from my friends and family here at CF. Especially if I only have a short period of time left with the family I always wanted and have loved for over 7 years now. I love you guys, I dont want to be another statistic of people who have left CF due to passing away ive lost way too many friends e a d friends irl over the last almost 10 years. I know the numbers are great right now. Out of the current 54.1 million cases of covid currently confirmed throughout the world only 1.31 million people have died. Thats encouraging. A lot of people don't die from covid that have it. But... idk. I just don't know what to do.

I just... im thinking morbidly as if ill never get to talk to you guys again. Or to my wife or to my other online friends.. I dont want that. I thought Christ had more plans for me. Im trying to believe ill be okay but... idk... im just stupid like always.

*edit* Recieved two negative results in a row. I don't have Covid but I do have both Bronchitis and Pneumonia. Similar symptoms to covid so... I dodged a bullet there.

How long will it take your doctor to get this test he will order? Seems to me you should have gotten to the hospital, been tested already, and be on treatment now.

Easy for me to say, but try to keep a good attitude, get in there for treatment now, and they may well be able to quickly get you to feeling better.

Yes I will keep this thread updated. Now that im sick I dont feel like spending anytime outside of the internet. Lol. So I'll probably be on CF a lot. Besides we called the hospital and they advised my wife and I not to leave the house at all except for the covid test. Im a little afraid of exposing my mother or sister and her husband and 2 kids though. We borrowed my sisters car to see the dentist about a week ago. So we might have exposed them already. My sister is a clean freak so im sure she disinfected her car after we used it. I hope so anyway because she had to bring my two nieces to school the day after.

Idk. I just know if my parents get it I probably won't see them again. My dad is almost 70 and my mom is in her mid 60s with all kinds of health problems. Grandmas hitting 90 and has multiple cancers and still living. She's been holding strong for years thanks to your guy's prayers. So if she got infected idk what would happen to her.

I'm just mainly like "Okay now that im pretty sure im infected i should wear a mask everywhere if I absolutely can't be inside and how my mom who was a nurse for over 40 years is right that masks work"

Even if you are at risk it doesn't mean that you will die. my family got covid-19 and we all have asthma and my old grandma has diabetes and we all lived. Two of us that got it were 34 years old. I'm also not healthy because I sit down a lot which is like the new smoking. good luck and try not to overstress yourself cuz that would just make things worse for you, though a little bit of stress is good for your immune system. We all made sure that we weren't vitamin D deficient. Just do what you can for yourself.

Please stop thinking these incredibly negative thoughts! It does no good, and certainly won't help your stress and immune system, to leap to "I may die and my loved ones may die and this may be the end for all of us". My goodness.

After surgery if you have a fever they should test you for two things, both COVID and a blood test to check your white count.

After I had back surgery I started running a high fever about a week later, and my doctor got me in right away and made sure I was tested the same day. (Which was difficult as I felt so badly)

Turns out for me I had just developed an infection, they gave me Augmentin and cleared it right up.

Since your coughing and have other symptoms than just fever, it's possible you contracted COVID but that's not a certain death sentence. 97% of people who contact it also recover.

Trust in God and call your doctor first thing in the morning, I'm sure they'll send you to the hospital for tests right away, then they can start treating you for anything that may be wrong... Tell them how bad your doing - they need to know.

Oh I forgot to mention that! Sorry! My surgery was on the 5th. They did test me that Saturday or Sunday I forget which for covid. I came back negative. So the hospital when I had a fever thought I could be exposed but why would I be just showing a fever then when I was negative that Saturday? Like I said I am obese. I have a bmi of well over 40. I had a very hard time getting to my room for surgery they said my fever and high blood pressure could have been due to that so they didn't investigate further.

The hospital didn't know there was an outbreak of covid throughout the whole hospital until the next day. Or they would have taken much more precautions.

I will call my doctor immediately tomorrow. Im having a hard time breathing a little bit so they did advise me to get tested right away. He might do a video visit with me too sometime this week if im positive. I think as long as my doctor sees me frequently through video and makes sure I dont get super bad I should be okay. Or if I do have to be hospitalized whats the harm in being hospitalized in a covid filled hospital when I already have covid? Lol.

I would ask for the blood test. Those nasal swabs don't work.

I had Covid in February. I'm also overweight, and I have asthma. I was able to weather it at home (though I was VERY ill). I did wind up with pneumonia, but antibiotics worked very well. I don't think there's any need to be in a hospital and surrounded by more risks of infection if you're medically stable enough to be at home.

I don't mind but I'm running low on data for the month so if I don't answer you it's because of no internet.

Perhaps not. Ive been tested for covid 2-3 times. Each nasal swab has come back negative. I just started getting very sick today. I was last tested Oct 31 or Sept 1 and I came back negative. Yet now 2 weeks later im showing symptoms? Either I got infected in the hospital or I got a false result a few days before.

I'm pretty sure I had it in late Oct-Dec 2019. This is before the media timeline, but I live near an international airport & work with many who travel to/from india (physically borders China). I went thru several rounds of antibiotic and that didn't clear it up. I was drinking musinex like water, and even think I broke a rib in one coughing fit. It was very bad, but in hindsight & now knowing about Covid, I think the trick for me was having time to recover without continual exposures (ie a vacation I took during the holidays where I just stayed in).

I'm seeing lots of false results from the nasal swab. The tesla guy posted something on Twitter about taking four test all from the same nurse using the same equipment on the same day and he got two positive and two negative results.

False negatives can happen same as false positives on rare occasions.

I'm sure they'll want to test you again though what with all the symptoms.

We know several good treatments for it now if you have it which is a positive. And its also possible for you to have come down with something else entirely...

I'm happy your speaking to your doctor tommorow and going from there... you have my prayers.
