My Staffy/American Bulldog mix (I wish I had a picture of her to put up) is adorable! Even though she's a very big dog, and very agile, she puts on an act like she's a puppy and needs help doing things like getting on the bed. She also has an easy chair that she's claimed as her day bed. She also likes being carried like a baby...she's just a little hard to carry!
I *heart* my Staffy!
Your staffy sounds so much like ours! They are such a loveable bunch of animals and smart too, they really know how to tug on your heart strings and get you to do things, they could very well do themselves, but they're so cute you can't resist -- I know!!!
Our oldest one (2.5) weighs 95lbs. and thinks he is a lapdog, literally. He is part Staffy and part boxer!!! What a mix but so adorable! He has similar traits to a Great Dane in that . . . he loves to "lean" on things, mostly people!!! His tail was cut before we got him but it may have been a good thing. He gets sooooooooo excited when we come home or talk to him he would probably send things flying everywhere if he HAD a tail! He's got big floppy ears because I think it is cruel to cut them and make them wear that stupid ring on their heads for 6 wks.
Anyway . . . Here is a little FYI for anyone interested in the breed = This type of animal has to be constantly touching or close to their human friends and I personally love that about this breed. Whether I am sitting in my chair, sleeping, or having dinner at the table, he is always near me touching something that belongs to me like my feet! If you don't want a dog that thinks his whole world revolves around you . . .then don't get a staffy!
As if Tison wasn't enough dog and love to spread around . . .my dear son and his girlfriend went and found another staffy mix at the Humane Society about 2 wks ago or so. I think it's more like 3 now :0) They named her Jasmine, but we call her Jazzy or Jazzy girl for short. You know us animal lovers we always gotta give them a nickname!
We believe she is mixed with Chocolate lab. She is the most beautiful mink color you've ever seen. Has the cutest face EVER!!! She looks like a little bear cub! And she loves to be picked up and held like a little baby too - which is easy to do since she is still a puppy @12 wks old and only weighs about 15lbs.!
I love my staffys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
