I think it's a bit more unique coming from Catholic theologians. Many Protestants who don't believe in the doctrine, blame its existence on the RCC and believe it should have been eliminated by Luther and other reformers. So in my opinion Catholic theologians denouncing it is more significant. So that's why I pointed it out, in a passing comment that was meant to express a bit of irony.

So, you have the wrong understanding of why people go to hell.

God allows you to end up in eternity, where you chose to Go, by becoming born again, or not on EARTH.

Heaven and Hell, are just destinations, that you choose, by receiving Christ or by rejection of Christ.
God does not send you to heaven, nor does God send you to Hell.

What God does, is RESPECT YOUR CHOICE, to go, after you die, ... based on what you did with Christ while you were BREATHING.

The unbelievers are children of the devil., and they go where their FATHER is destined to Go.

The born again, are children of God, and they end up, where their Father exits.

I have to disagree with you a bit. The Bible says people are picked up by angels and literally thrown into hell.

Lets look at "send" "sent".

Look at this verse...'""""For if God spared not the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment;""""

Now, think of it like this..

Lets say that a person murders their neighbor, in cold blood.
They are arrested, tried, and sent to the electric chair, and they are fried to death.

So, the judge did not send them to their death.
They sent themselves by their choice to do what caused them in the end to be burned in the electric chair.

So, the process, is....the judge, the sentence, the Chair.

But what sent them there was the MURDER.
No Murder, no Judge, no electric Chair.

And so it is with those who rejected Christ.
They are already damned, while they are breathing.
Their damnation is not after they die, its already on them, they are already DAMNED on earth. John 3:36.

So, that is what SENT them to hell after they died.

There is no scripture that says....>"Christ will leave you if you dont live right".
There is. no scripture that says "the born again can go to hell".

There is this....> "no man can take you out of my Hand".......and there is this...."and you shall never perish".

So, see that verse that says that no man can take you away from Christ once you are born again "in Christ".

That verse is also talking about the PERSON themselves.

I didn't see this post earlier. There's scripture that supports it that's been posted to threads about hell on CF. I wasn't aware of those two you mentioned being among those who taught it. It's becoming less and less of a minority view and has gathered some pretty substantial proponents, like the three I mentioned.

Im asking you to show me where in Wikipedia that it says that that 60% of the KJV Bible was derived from the Geneva Bible. Your accusation is that I got this information from Wikipedia but Wikipedia doesn’t say that 60% of the KJV derived from the Geneva Bible. So it’s IMPOSSIBLE for either me or you to quote something that doesn’t exist. How can I quote something from Wikipedia that isn’t there? My point is this, your making false accusations and assumptions about my level of study implying that I’m googling everything I post as I go along as if I didn’t already know what I’m talking about when I’ve been having these conversations for years here on CF. I’ve done a lot of study over the years and my posts are available for anyone to see to prove it. You’ve accused me of going to commentaries when I don’t do commentaries. I openly admitted that yes I have read the early church writings and yes they are in a way commentaries but Ignatius and Polycarp are first century disciples. They were taught by the apostles themselves. Their interpretation gives us a glimpse of how the apostles intended the scriptures to be interpreted. So commentaries from these men hold a lot more weight than commentaries from people who never heard the apostles preach first hand and who didn’t follow the apostles for years.

That's encouraging. I used to ’lead’ an Alpha course group. It's probably not known in the US but it's a course popular in the UK that is designed to introduce people to Christianity. The group leaders are not supposed to answer any questions (which was good for me because otherwise I couldn't have done it!) but to throw them back to the group for discussion which is why I put the word in quotes above. The reason I mention it is that it was interesting to hear the reservations people had about Christianity. The main one I heard was Why is there suffering? but the second one was What sort of God would send people to hell just because they're not Christians? So I'd welcome a more enlightened broad agreement on the subject because I think many more people would at least be prepared to explore Christianity.

The people in Matthew 25:31-46 were not rejecting Christ. They didn’t choose to go to hell, they were punished by being sent to hell.
