The Cross is where God died to offer . John 3:16
You can believe that this is not "unbiblical".
Believing in Jesus is more than just believing in the person of Jesus Christ for our salvation, but it is also believing in everything Jesus taught, said, and did, too.
Jesus says:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that hears my word,
and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life,
and shall not come into condemnation;
but is passed from death unto life.”
(John 5:24).
Please take note on John 5:24:
The EXB Translation explains that the word "
hear" is to: "
obey.";
“I tell you the truth [Truly, truly I say to you], whoever hears [obeys] what I say [my word/message] and believes in the One who sent me has eternal life. That person will not be judged guilty [come into judgment/condemnation] but has already left death and entered life [passed from death into life].” (John 5:24) (EXB).
Meaning, we have to believe in Jesus and obey Him to not perish. Acts of the Apostles 3:23 confirms this. It says that if anyone does not hear that prophet (JESUS), they shall be destroyed. Obviously a person who just listens to God's Word and they do nothing to obey Him is truly not listening to God.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (James 1:22).
In John 3:20: Jesus also says that everyone who does evil hates the light (i.e. hates Christ).
So if any believer is doing evil or sin, they actually hate the true Christ in the Holy Bible.
But they have made up their own version of Christ they prefer to see instead so as to justify sin and evil. God cannot agree with sin because He is holy, just, and good.
So you have to look at the whole counsel of God's Word.
