How to say Hello?

Actually I love it. I miss people asking how I am and more importantly I forget to ask to ask myself how I am. I like to know how people are feeling and I love when people take time to find out how I am. I also like to see if I am ok because I think it is easy to deceive ourselves into thinking we are ok when we are not.

True, not everyone who asks does care about the response but I like to believe I care about others and want to genuinely know how they are.

Yea, i ask them because I do want to know.
Even though its often just english politeness, and not everyone gets it, its from the heart. English is a very polite language, always saying please and thank you. Its called minding your ps and qs.

In chinese, its more like 'have you eaten yet?' Lol.

I think the "how are you" is more of a pleasantry than it is an honest question. Some ask it honestly but for most it's a force of habit. Does it get on my nerves sometimes? Yes, especially when I know they don't really want an answer or if my pain level is higher than normal. Should this greeting be changed? Perhaps but in reality I doubt it will. For now this phrase is too ingrained in the culture but that doesn't mean individuals can't make the conscious effort to change the way they greet another person.

This is why I say something off the wall some times just to catch them slippin.

No need to get upset that people are simply doing as they are programmed to do in a "polite society" simply find ways to have fun with them.

Next time instead of getting upset try saying something like.

Hi Im a train, I go CHOO CHOO.

eyebrow raise
If it's you just wave your hand in front of the person. they just have to wave back.
smile. say nothing.
clap your hands with glee.
shrug.

I don't know, how are you?
kiss on both cheeks.
shake their hand vigorously (I really don't get shaking hands)

meh.

That is an interesting idea. I'll try it next time or something similar. I am sure I'll at least get an interesting look or facial expression. It doesn't usually upset me just when I am not feeling myself otherwise I don't care. Thank you for the laugh though.

If I don't want to reveal I respond with something along the lines of..."Fair to partly cloudy", "I'll let you know when the voices stop talking all at once", "I don't know yet. I just beamed down from the Starship", "You can see me"...
