To put the question more correctly: Do you love Jesus more than your partner, friend or any other Christian or non-Christian? The answer should be "Yes" because he sacrificed his life on the cross for our sins. Even if we fail frequently by making many mistakes that seem righteous at first but turn out to be sinful later, he still loves us if we allow him to forgive our mistakes - no matter how many different kinds of mistakes, we just hopefully don't repeat the same ones too often. I believe sexual sin can be the most difficult issue when it comes to gay Christian marriage for example, and I would rather not get into an argument because Jesus can forgive you after the marriage has ended by just becoming friends instead of lovers, which most probably must be done before Jesus returns in the future - which can be a risky gamble knowing that Jesus could turn up sooner rather than later. If only Adam and Eve didn't sin in the first place, we would all still be brothers and sisters of Christ spiritually married with our Lord Jesus as we are one union with Christ, and also where it's a completely purely peaceful worship-like experience compared to two married individual partners that rely on sexual feelings for each other. From the Bible Luke 3.10-14"What should we do then?" the crowd asked. John answered, "The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same."Tax collectors also came to be baptized. "Teacher," they asked, "what should we do?""Don't collect any more than you are required to," he told them. Then some soldiers asked him, "And what should we do?" He replied, "Don't extort money and don't accuse people falsely--be content with your pay."

Hi guys,

I know Jesus says to love Him with your soul, heart, mind and strength,But how can i do that? How i can love Jesus more?Thank you
When a man and a woman fall in love they want to spend time
with each other and if they are godly, they will want to enter into
an exclusive relationship with each other called marriage.

In the contract or covenant of marriage the two people agree to join
together as one and hold everything in common between them and
they make several vows of fidelity, trust, commitment, love, faithfulness
and of giving to each other their very lives in exclusion to all others
in marriage.

On and on, the marriage between a man and a woman mirrors the
depths and binding relationship we are called to in Christ.

If we love our wife or husband, we will trust them and in the case
of a wife, she will follow her husbands leading.

We as Christians are compared to the wife in a marriage.
We are to be faithful and follow and obey Christ above all others.
We are to place freely all that we have under the authority
of our husband, Jesus Christ.
We would of course desire Him above all others and seek to please
Him with our life, manners actions and service to Him and we would never
want to break the trust between us or dishonor the one we love.

I could go on and on but you get the point.

So how do we love God?

We love God by surrendering ourselves to the Love of God
in Christ and receiving Christ as our Lord, as our husbandman
and seek to please Him with our life.

We will follow Him and communicate with Him and discern
His likes and dislikes and become all that He finds attractive
in manner, action and expression of His love that we return
to Him in an exclusive relationship that is above all other
relationships.

Surrender is key in this relationship of love.
If we do not trust Him enough to surrender our lives into His care
then we need His help to bring us to a place of love and trust.

God is so patient and He will step by step show us His love and faithfulness
if we will come to Him and ask Him to show us how to love Him as
only He deserves.

The key to all this is spending time with Him in prayer (talking to and
hearing God) and meditating on His character, goodness, mercy, grace and
love as expressed in the life of Jesus Christ, God the Son.

Reading God's word and asking Him for more of His holy Spirit will
propel us forward in Him as we seek to grow in His love and knowledge.

The Holy Spirit is the love connection between us and the Father
as promised to us when Jesus departed the earth and ask the Father
to send the comforter, counselor and guide to us to help us understand
the depths of this love that God offers us through His son, Jesus Christ.

I could not emphasis enough the importance of God the Holy Spirit
in our lives and His role of connecting us to God in a deeper way.

Some will tell you that they have all of God's spirit that is offered
but I want to tell you that there is always more.

Jesus had the Spirit without measure, WITHOUT MEASURE.

What do we have?

A portion?

No one can claim they have the Holy Spirit WITHOUT MEASURE so
that tells me that there is always room for more.

We all need more of God's Holy Spirit in our lives and less of our own
desires, will, efforts, plans, accomplishments.
We all need as Christians more of the heart of God within us that cries out for more of God's
will in our lives that we might love and please Him as He deserves.

"Your kingdom come, Your will be done on the earth as it is in heaven"

How deep do you want to go?
How much of yourself and your life are you willing to give up so
that you can walk in love and the life that God offers you in Christ?

God gave us His all....God the Son gave us all of Himself and held nothing back.
God loves us with all His heart and with all His soul and with all his strength
as proven to us in God the Son Jesus Christ.

Are we willing to return His love?

God never asks us to do what He has not already done.
God proved His absolute love toward us and asks that we would
allow that love to so transform us that we are compelled to return His love.

Are you willing to make a deeper love connection between yourself and God?

I suggest that you study the baptism of the Holy Spirit as revealed in
the book of Acts and see what God's spirit can accomplish
in the lives of those who surrender themselves to the love of God in Christ.

Luke 11:13
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

A great booklet to read is called Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray
and it will help you understand the depths of this love relationship
that God calls us to in Christ.

Just read the next line...."Love one another as you love yourself", more. The more you love the least of us, the more you love Christ.

Dear Leonardo164. By showing Jesus that you really love Him. HOW? Treat all you know and all you meet, friends as well as not friends, treat them as you would love to be treated: kindly and with friendly words, helping hands if needed, and generally treat them as good neighbours. Jesus will see your sincere efforts, and Jesus will approve and bless you. God will also know that you love Him, because you follow the Commandments to " Love God and love Jesus and your neighbour." Jesus told us to " ask and ye will receive," then you thank Jesus and share all Love and Joy with all around you. Ask Jesus into your heart, and tell Him how very much you love Him.
People around you will notice your love and kindness, and they will treat you the same. Your life will be more enjoyable and you will have many opportunities to witness for Jesus, our Saviour and Friend. Just tell and show Jesus how very much you love Him, and you will have " life abundantly," as Jesus promised us. I say this with love, Leonardo. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Try a meditation to emphathise with Jesus, his ministry, his love, and compassion and finally his walk to Calvary. Picture Jesus as loving all persons he touched and healed, his kindness, concern, and outpouring of love. Helping those who were trodden down by the weight of poverty, disease, and inhumane conditions. Feel with your heart the day he carried the cross on the Via Dolorosa to his execution, being mocked, and laughed at by many. How would a person who was without sin feel on such a day? I can imagine a sorrow so overwhelming from a broken heart. Just typing this makes me want to cry and love him even more.

Encouraging you to deliberately focus on Yahweh by reading and meditating (means to focus) on Scripture such as Psa 145 and playing music (like religious Christmas lyrics that's about Him) and think about some of His titles, names, and attributes and sing a song to Him to an audience of One. Recommendations based on such Scriptures as I Thess 5:17; Matt 6:6; John 4:24; Psa 16:11; 46:10, 69:30; 71:23; and 100:4.

Are you baptized by The Holy Spirit.
I fell deeply and in love with The Lord when I was filled with The Holy Spirit.
Not that I did not love God before, (infact i used to fight anyone who said anything bad about God even when I was still a sinner) but I put other things first, I only read bible when I wanted, only went to church when I had time. I would club every weekend anyway so could not make time for church most sundays, and hardly ever prayed.
But when I rededicated my life to The Lord, and was baptized by His Holy Spirit. Everything changed, the love for God was different, it was a very big love, a very liquid type of live which He returns back.

Deut 6;5
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

So we have HEART, SOUL and MIND here that we have to use. The three things that make US who we are, why we exist and the reason for our being here. We have to love God with it all.

Heart is; regarded as the center of a person's thoughts and emotions, esp. love or compassion

Soul is ; the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being regarded as immortal. Or a person's moral or emotional nature or sense of identity

Might is ; a great and impressive power or strength, esp. of a natural force. Might is RIGHT...ability to go as you wish..unchallenged...using ALL your POWER and STRENGTH.

I just put the short definitions up to show you the extent to which you have to love Jesus Christ. Your heart has to be there...your soul has to be there and your power and strength which is your might has to be there.

This is by making Him number one!. He has to come first in everything you do. If you have a partner whom you love with all your heart, you would die for them I suppose?

Jesus Christ wants us to love Him more than we love others. So you can see the intensity that our love for God should be.

By reading His word, asking for the Gift of the Holy Spirit, engage in conversation with The Lord everyday, do His will, leave a life of sin and the world.

Love Him with all your emotions and power. Fall in love with Him and see Him return that love back to you...You will feel it..

And then of course loving others as we love ourselves as well which is the second commandment Jesus gave after the first of loving God. Loving others does not mean only christians, but sinners as well..

Get forgiven more. He who is forgiven much, loves much.
Or just realize how much you have already been forgiven.

Many think that they aren't so bad to begin with so
they never realize that they were already under a death sentence
and no better than the vilest of sinners.

As you progress and begin to see truly how far we are from God,
you will love more as you see just how desperately you
need a savior to save you from your own evil and vile self.

There is no one who meets the standard of God for Holiness excep Jesus Christ
and in Him alone are we forgiven and justified.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

If we try to be good enough apart from Christ by keeping the law
and yet if you have ever broken one of God's laws, you are guilty of them all.

James 2:10
For whoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

In Christ alone I stand, all other ground is sinking stand.

We all as Christians have been forgive a debt we could never have paid.

We all have been forgiven "much" if we would only see it.

You got it backwards...

"We love because HE first loved us".

We never boast in our love to JESUS, we boast that JESUS loves us.
John had it right, calling himself 'the one JESUS loved'.

When we receive HIS love and get a revelation of that, we start to love others un-conditionally too, and that loving others moves me to loving the least, and my enemy is the same as 'loving JESUS'.

As you've done it to the least, you've done it onto ME. JESUS said.
