CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes terrorism of any kind by anyone goes against God's teaching. Below is what a quick seach of Israeli terroism turns up.
Eden Natan Zada was justified and by the way several arab MK's were their cheering the crowd on as Zada was beaten to death.

Well you clearly get your marching orders from the pope and the church who has killed millions over the past 1900 years so don't talk to me about "human rights violations"! And sense you are so concerned about the "rights" of others then why don't you discuss Saudi Arabia or Pakistan instead of Israel when other country's have done worse to their own people and others?

The fact that Arafat won a "peace prize" speaks laud and clear about those that submitted him and elected him to get that "prize" and to those that thinks he is a great person. He was a pedophile and died of AIDS so put 2 and 2 together and figure out the kind of person he really was. And by the way Barak was willing to give up all of Jerusalem so his offer was "generous" indeed but the fact that the "Palestinians" did not take it made clear what they are really after; all of Israel.

How were his actions any more justified than those of the Palestinian suicide bombers?

Because he was provoked on the bus not before going on the bus. The Israeli government condemns everything that its soldiers do so that it does not "offend" the arabs.

Horsefeathers, unless you mean forever in a metaphorical sense, which means it is not literally forever, and thus is as OLAM means, an age, a period of time with a beginnign and an end, the end of which is unknown from the perspective of the writer.
Sorry Tanakh, but you have produced no valid evidence to the contrary . . . . just your personal opinion, nothing more.
So you are saying that your scriptures are in error using OLAM for the span of the life of a slave? You are saying that the scriptures are in error for using OLAM to denote a span of time, with a beginning and an end?
For if you are not, you have shot your own argument in the foot, for then OLAM clearly means "an age" and not unending, eternal.
If you are saying the above, then you have again shot your argument in the foot for then you accuse your own scriptures of error, and so one cannot take at face value any such promise of "forever" as you are trying to do here.
So, you are left without any evidence whatsoever for your claim . . .

I stopped listening to Steve Berry's The Alexandria Link is that this book is evil
I mean that this book, to the degree that it is read by people ignorant of history (i.e., practically everybody), will move us closer to a future in which our society permits or even approves of the murder of Jews and the destruction of the state of Israel.
Wait! This book is fiction! How could it have such an effect?
Well, it can't -- not all by itself. Its effect is incremental. But it's real.
Here's how it works.
At the beginning of the book, we are shown a Palestinian during the 1948 war over the creation of the state of Israel. The scene is about how this Palestinian has been torturing a man he captured in order to find out what he is doing; then he kills him. But the torture is not treated in the fiction as anything other than a regrettable necessity; later, the character does in fact regret his actions that day.
That's not what makes this book evil. No, it's the fact that Berry sets this scene against a background in which Israelis are systematically driving all the Palestinians out of Israel; the Israelis are heavily armed by the British while the Palestinians have no weapons to counter them; and the Israelis have rounded up whole villages of Palestinians and slaughtered them, men and women alike.
These things are not what the scene is about. They are slipped in as background; they are treated as if they were the sort of thing that was really going on in Palestine in 1948.
This is the kind of thing that readers -- especially ones who don't know anything about history -- are likely to assume the writer has researched, so that it can be trusted. The book is fiction, so we know this particular character did not torture and kill the other guy -- that part is obviously made up. But the background is assumed to be real. And readers often come out of books like this thinking they now know something about the real world.
In fact, what Berry is providing is pure propaganda -- the propaganda created by terrorists and murderers to "prove" that Jews "deserve" to be blown up by suicide bombers. It is exactly as reliable as the widely-believed propaganda lie that either President Bush or the state of Israel -- or both -- actually carried out the 9/11 attacks in order to provide a pretext for invading innocent Muslim countries.
(Oddly, the same liars who make this claim often turn around and talk about how proud they are that Islam stood up against the West on 9/11. Which is it? Why would you be proud of it if you didn't do it? They know they're lying; the incredible thing is that so many supposed intellectuals in the West believe it, or pretend to.)
The truth -- the well-documented historical truth -- is that the British did not arm the Israelis. They blocked all attempts by the Israelis to arm themselves. Every weapon that the Israeli army had in 1948 was smuggled in. While the "poor, unarmed Palestinians" were supported by the fully-armed military forces of Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. The Arabs had the military advantage, in numbers and in weaponry.
Furthermore, while there were places where Israelis encouraged Muslims to flee, it was not a systematic effort, and many of those who fled did so at the well-documented insistence of Muslim leaders, who wanted Muslims out of the way so they could set about the business of slaughtering Jews. Only Israeli courage and audacity in combat prevented the genocidal outcome intended by the Arabs who defied the United Nations by trying to destroy Israel at the moment of its creation.
At the end of the war, the reason there was no Palestinian state is not because the Israelis prevented it. It was because the Arab nations prevented it -- Egypt took over the rule of the Gaza Strip and Jordan ruled the West Bank, declaring it to be part of their national territory and suppressing any attempt to create a Palestinian state there. As for wholesale slaughter of Palestinian civilians by Israelis, it didn't happen. Nowhere, not in 1948, and not since then. A lot of people think it has happened because of propaganda. Like when the media was full of reports, during the intifadeh, that Israelis had massacred hundreds or thousands of Palestinians in Jenin. Later, sober investigation showed that no such thing had happened -- that, on the contrary, Israelis had suffered needless casualties on their own side because of the extraordinary lengths they went to to prevent civilian casualties on the other side.

If the world supports our enemies then they will suffer for it. As a nuclear strike would only be used if Israel was attacked by many nations at once where by the end was inevitable and thus the end of the world would soon come so if that happens the goy would have no one to blame but themselves.
