Why is it, it can't be millions of years old surley ???
-
Because in Genesis 1:1 God created the earth. There is no way to determine a time line from that point. The only time line that can be established is when God began restoring the earth He created in Genesis 1:1. That time line can be determined starting at Genesis 1:3 or using Adam's linage up to Jesus

Amount of time from Adam to Jesus

If a thousand years for us is but a day for God, in God's eyes this should make the earth 7 + 6 = 13 days old, am I right ?
The Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old, while the universe is estimated to be around 13.8 billion years old.

There are very slow processes we see in nature that do not fit into any young Earth theory.

...and a day is a thousand years. So logically speaking it can not be both at the same time nor is it " for us". Scripture is telling us that God is outside of time where both one day and a thousand years are the same. Blessings

You're joking, of course? Then your point is?

You can't use 2 Pet. 3:8 as a mathematical formula, because that is misuse of scripture. That verse isn't about any literal 1000 years or about equating 1000 yrs with 1 day in any literal sense. That verse is about God's infinite patience. And that's all.

prophetic time always uses the day-year principle ... in Genesis they are literal days not prophetic days.

They estimated age of the earth (literal years) from a biblical perspective is estimated from the genealogy documented therein from adam and eve to the present which is about 6,000 literal years.

There are literal days and there are prophetic days.

Only if you take figures of speech literally.

There was a major extinction 13,000 years ago. So the age or era we live in began 13,000 years ago. The next 1,000 years will be the Kingdom Age or the 1,000 year reign of Christ. Then there will be a new heaven and a new earth.

It really isn’t complicated despite what many try to throw at you. The earth was created in 6 24 hour days approximately 6000 years ago. That is what the Bible teaches. Genesis was delivered to us by Moses. He provided the details of creation in Genesis and confirms it in Exodus 20:11.

Its like claiming the Earth is flat or that your thinking is processed in kidneys instead of in brain.

Bible is not a scientific book and using it against the physical nature of our world is nonsensical.

I agree - the Bible is not a scientific book. Would you agree that it is a Historical book?

No, there are many texts in it that are not history. Like 150 songs called "psalms".

The only historian in our modern sense among the Bible authors was Luke. That makes the gospel of Luke and The Acts to be the only true historical writings in the Bible.

Even other gospels are not meant to be truly historical, for example many words of Jesus there are without any context or placed into various different contexts.
