When I say actually help, I mean materially improve the situation. I don’t mean ANY form of making me feel better about it. His grace, love, presence, patience, etc.=not actually helping. How do I get him to act rather than give me completely empty words?
After partying and dropping out of college, I was working planting tree farms with loblolly pine seedlings when I was 23. I felt as if I might not be able to stay in the job until the end of the tree planting season. I promised God if I made it to the end of the season, I would give my discretionary bonus for staying the season to charity. God helped me through. I was poor not even owning a car, but gave the bonus to the specified charity as I promised. Later in life I bought a new car with cash.

Sometimes I pray to God about what I should do next. I might get an answer like, “Read the Gospel of Mark.” It gets me through my life.

God is not a cosmic bellhop, there to serve our whims.

I had this question. I found the following helps-

Each day, simply say

"The favor of God is on me, the favor of God surrounds me, and the favor of God goes before me. I have access to the throne of divine favor, and in time of need that favor comes my way." Savelle, Jerry. The Favor of God (p. 126). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.

"My expectations are from God. The blessing of God is on my life and it’s going to show up every day of my life. I expect it." Savelle, Jerry. Every Day A Blessing Day . Savelle Publishing. Kindle Edition.

He left first.

You're being rebellious and ungrateful and it sounds like you'll be miserable the rest of your life. Read your Bible to be thankful for what he has done for us that we didn't deserve. And thank you for helping me to think on those things. If I haven't learned, I'm learning:

Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have:
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

You don't. He's God, you are not. That's why we only get what we ask for if it's his will.
"14And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.…"

Notice the condition. It's not whatever we want, it's whatever we ask that is his will.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time at the moment. It's really difficult when we cant see God doing anything. I dont really have any advice except try not to turn against God during this hard time. remember job, the devil asked if he could test someone and God said see my servant job. so God basically gave the devil permission to do his worst.. because He knew that the work He had already done in jobs life prior to this would see job through it all.
God is working behind the scenes, I know it's near impossible to see that at the moment but He is. dont give up friend, for you.

God gives us all what He deems we need; sometimes it may even be what we want; often times it seems to be at odds with what we think is best for us.

The more important question is how will you come to trust God above yourself?

We can't reduce God to a formula. When God gives us more than we can handle that means he's teaching us to rely more on him. We have to learn to lean on him and trust him even in the darkest of times.

You need to be humble, that means letting go of ideas that you can make God do what you want. Everything God does for you is a blessing not to be taken for granted. Your life should be about what you can do for God, not what He can do for you. Remember Jesus, he didn't come to be served, but to serve. If you truly want God to help you, give everything you have to him, your whole life, start serving him and your fellow humans without wanting anything in return. A gift is a gift, and is given by grace and mercy.

Matthew 20:24-28
24 And hearing this, the ten became indignant with the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. 26 It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Take Jesus words to your heart.

Christ love,
Peter

be humble,
As in :
God GIVES GRACE(real, true, actual, help and salvation and sanctification included)
abundantly and extravagantly generously (yes, GIVES) (freely)
to the humble.....
God opposes the proud.

quite a difference, eh?

Stop blaming God...
And I would add "grow up"...

His "attitude" clearly shows his extreme "immaturity"...

And he both wants and expects God to "bless that"...? Dream on my friend, dream on...

He (God) would actually being doing him (the OP) great harm and a great disservice doing so right now, with the way he currently is, etc...

God Bless!
