CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think that hell has to do with God's standard of absolute divine love. Clearly some horrible crime has been committed. The crime is probably being a murderer (see 1 Jn 3:15 and cross ref. With Jn. 3:19-20, Jn 15:19-23, etc).

Hell is part of Gods plan to free His creatures from evil and wickedness if this age does not work out for them. God is Love and has already said that everyone will bow the knee willingly. He has no need to take away someones free will since He already decided that free will was part of the best reality for His creatures.

The English word "hell" comes from the same source as "hole", "hill", and "hall". The idea is that of being buried in a hole that was dug, or a tomb in the side o a hill, or in a cave that looks like a hall. It is the equivalent of the Hebrew "sheol" and the Greek "hades".
Hell is not the Lake of Fire, as hell/hades/sheol and death are both thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is a terrifying reality, but that is not what hell is. Hell, along with death, is/is being/will be destroyed.

I think Christ's grace is sufficient for every living being. God don't make mistakes. Most;y I think the 2012 version is so Christians can feel good about themselves, high and mighty and better than the "unsaved" "Look at me, I am one of God's chosen, too bod you are not" type of thing for 2012. Biblicly I think it's a metaphor. WHen I have been without a spiritual life there is a hole, a thirst that can't be quenched, bitter. TO be without God is hell seperated and alone in spirit is a whole different kind of lonliness. I think the Bible is warning us about the harshness of it.
