Nah, it just says different things. That's why there are so many competing doctrines.

It's not "saying" different things......people are construing different things. Those different doctrines are typically divided on the same words (IOW...one group interprets the words one way....and the other a different way). It's not that some claim some verses and others claim separate verses.

If you were to read (forget where it's from for the moment) "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth"....what would that mean? Reading the same words on the paper......different people get different meanings out of the same words.

I think you're reading into that, that does not say "we all deserve hell"

It explains why all people stand before God guilty of His judgment and wrath and worthy of Hell.

You don't need punishment (Suffering) to encourage change. That is the worst way to help someone rehabilitate.

Hell isn't meant to "encourage change"; it is meant to press sinners to the only means whereby they may escape the wrath of God: Jesus Christ, the Saviour.
