It's not "saying" different things......people are construing different things. Those different doctrines are typically divided on the same words (IOW...one group interprets the words one way....and the other a different way). It's not that some claim some verses and others claim separate verses.Nah, it just says different things. That's why there are so many competing doctrines.
If you were to read (forget where it's from for the moment) "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth"....what would that mean? Reading the same words on the paper......different people get different meanings out of the same words.
