  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thank the Lord they were able to address the issue early on rather than later..and praying you'd make it through.

She's not dying Easy, she has COPD. .
Who said anything about her dying, ani? As Sister Yedia stated plainly in #97 :
I have really bad COPD, combined with asthma. Since Sunday I had been having mini asthma attacks, by Tues afternoon it became more and more difficult to take in a breath
Anyone who has actually worked in hospitals/with others who do knows how quickly something like asthma attacks can turn into a real bad situation. The same thing goes for those involved in athletics and who struggled with breating issues while doing high endurance work-outs, as I saw frequently growing up. Some were for thinking it was a small thing, only to find out that it was a symptom of something greater (or at least having the potential to develop further into something if not treated). And for people who deal with asthma attacks, anytime one experiences attacks with it/having difficulty in breating, one's blessed to be treated by physicans who can aid in helping it become better. COPD ( (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ) is not something to be taken lightly--and one can go either here, here or here for more.

As said before in #100, I thank the Lord for the doctors being able to address it when they did. And noting that something got addressed early is nowhere near close to one saying that someone's about to pass...though in light of your general tendencies with those you choose to have issues with, its not surprising to see the attempt at reading into something MORE than what others said.

It just feels like you are. Stop before you really stick your fingers in your mouth
Actually, I'm breathing just fine/loving life on a host of levels :) But in regards to your commentary --as it concerns creating a false scenario that others think others were dying simply because they said "I'm praying you'd get through", if you're going to respond, IMHO, it'd behoove you to not to be quick to assume something more (exaggeration) than what was stated or read into what others say just to find something negative, especially when its apparent that its easier to do so when you already have expressed issues with them (as you generally do with others). Its trivial..but not necessary...and when you do so, it doesn't do well for you in reflecting one's really listening to what's said when something's stated. In fact, it actually shows one's moreso concerned with being quick (at any cost) at trying to make mockery (and failing to realize where they make themselves look bad in the process, Proverbs 18:13, Proverbs 29:20, James 1:18-20 , etc).

No coverings are forbidden for Jew as long as glory is kept

Curious as to what you mean by glory being kept. If you mean that the hair itself is covered, I got you

If they were to ban wearing all forms of head coverings, under the claim that they all seem to appear either Muslim or seem oppressive (as exaggerations go politically), would you feel that it'd be something to fight against..or to go with concerning blending in?

They can't ban hats, and I doubt I'd be going back into the workforce until the kids are going to university, so it's really a non issue. With certain scarves being fashion (Gucci etc) - I doubt those would be banned either.

Since I don't dress in a Muslim fashion, I don't see where it'd be an issue. IF it did become an issue, I would gladly speak out against it. Yet, I don't see it becoming an issue, as many girls/women are simply loving those new headbands that look like scarves. ;)

Yeah!!!

Praise the Lord that you're progressing well. Thought of this song from a show I used to love watching back in the day:

Gotta love that Gucci..though if/when the style changes, things can always get interesting..

The new headbands are rather trendy...

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I figure it's better than starting a new one.
I found this blog - and this submission well written and gives clear thought on the process of covering.
Our Lady Wrap Star: Naomi | Wrapunzel

Nice find! Young, beautiful women look great in such head wraps. Older
women such as myself....not so much, lol.

The crisscross wrap intrigues me.

Most people in our community wear sheitels, but a of the younger ones cover with beautiful wraps most of the times and use sheitels for special
occasions.

That looks really interesting. I don't know why, but that sort of wrap will not stay on my head. :sigh:

I don't think it would stay on mine either. I used to have super thick hair,
but so many years of wearing a sheitel has damaged it...now it's thin
and fly away :( I think scarves would slide right off.
