  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A wide headband helps under the tichel.

I'm not sure that would help-the headband would slide off too. The only
thing that keeps my sheitel on are the combs. I used to wear a valour
band under it that was supposed to help with comfort and keeping it in
place, but it never did much good. Some people will make a small braid
in the front of their hair to hook the combs of the sheitel onto if they
have thin hair, but not sure if something that would work with anything
other than a sheitel.

After much prayerful study, I have recently started covering (tichels). I feel like what Paul (1 Corinthians 11:5-10) is instructing is that women have a covering on their head as proof that a woman is under the authority of their own husbands for the sake of the angels/messengers, so that they will know not to usurp the authority of her head/husband. This is what finally brought me to the place of covering.
I don't cover all of my hair, but most of it so as not to mislead anyone as to whether it's a fashion statement or not. No where in scripture does it say that women are to completely cover all of her hair. I see it as a way to honor my husband as my authority, to remind me to yield to my husband's authority and a manifestation of those around me that I am under the authority of my husband. :)
