Actually, I've noticed Trump isn't talking about what he will actually do, overall, much less if it is tied to Project 2025 or not. I'm specifically not commenting on Trump and what might happen in his administration because it seems no one really knows, Trump hasn't told us.
I mean, I look at things he talked about in his campaign like getting rid of the ACA and replacing it with his own health care plan -- of course, we saw how that worked out in his first term, when he stated "Who knew that Health Care was so complicated?" when he couldn't get his own plan, that was supposedly ready to go on day 1, created. Additionally, with the narrow margins in Congress, it seems doubtful this is something he can do.
While he is going big on DOGE, again this seems something that won't be nearly as large as what Trump is promising. Ramaswamy and Musk have no real power in government, Congress controls the purse strings for government, so it is Congress that has to make the cuts to the various government departments -- not DOGE. And, again, with such tight margins in Congress, Republicans will be limited on how much they can really do.
I've yet to see a plan of how he is going to deport millions of illegal immigrants. I understand several here believe this will be big but I just don't see how he can do it without violating the civil rights of millions -- you can't just pull people off the streets and require them to prove their citizenship. The only things I can see is him removing people who are technically here legally, waiting for asylum decisions, and moving them to camps in Mexico -- but that isn't removing illegals.
There is the talk of tariffs but, again, it seems like Trump is using this as a negotiating tactic -- it is unclear exactly what he will actually do. He has talked about using it to create taxes, and lower income tax, but no actual plan has been announced and it is unclear how he could do it without major inflation on various consumer goods (to adjust for the cost of the tariffs for the goods that are imported).
He talked of ending the Ukraine-Russia war on day 1 but it is now clear that he had no actual plan and that the things he is trying are not yet working, particularly without completely betraying Ukraine. It is again unclear exactly what will happen.
He promised to lower grocery prices and stop inflation, though he has now admitted that isn't going to happen.
Seriously, there is little talk of what Trump is actually going to do, period, not just with Project 2025. So the fact it isn't being mentioned doesn't mean that much of Project 2025 isn't going to be attempted. It merely means that Trump is not telling us what his new administration is actually going to look like.
