  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hanging out?

Yo peoples!
We've got Eddie and Tasha now it's the amazing Scooby!

View attachment 167159 We're not doing a christmas tree this year so we thought maybe we could use Scooby instead. But he didn't want the job.
@ Mnorian - great selection of songs on the inspirational thread. Brenda Lee, BoneyM, ah those were the days! when music was - errr - music. See you got a load of Dylan on another thread. I rate him the best singer/songwriter/poet of my generation.
What music and singers do other people rate high?
As for light bulbs, you know don't you that you never need to change them. Just get as many people as possible into the room and get everyone to point hard at the bulb at the same time.
Surely everyone knows that many hands make light work.

Maybe if you tied some bacon on them lights he would go for it. ha.:) Thanks for comment on the songs--I believe I have something from every decade since the 40s--there is great music being made all the time, even today; if you know where to look for it. I bought an LED light for the house the other day, cost $8; but i figured it should out last me. :D

Hi all I just thought I would post again say hi and hope everyone is okay.
I am quite excited nearing holiday time for me and I'm off to Hawaii , Seattle, Houston and LA

You come here in the winter? Well, at least you miss the blazing heat. Wish I was going to New Zealand for the holidays.

Yo! Sounds like an exciting trip Mishe. Keep us posted. Is Eddie going with you?
Here it's going to be a boring, stay at home Christmas. Great!

Hey Mnorian - how's things, any snow arrived yet? We're having the mildest early winter I've ever know here.

No snow yet; but it's been cold down in the low 20s Fahrenheit, snow on the mountains around us; above 2,000 feet or so; I live in a valley of about 250 feet above sea level. Got an early Christmas present of a new laptop so busy getting that set up; having trouble setting up the Webroot anti-virus that came with it; the on-line keycode; anybody had any experience with that? Sometimes staying home for Christmas is the best thing to do with the weather and can be less hectic. Blessings for you and your country over there in Jesus name.

Well, I had good luck with the HP pavilion that I had for the last 3+ years so got another one of them; but I down sized from the 17 inch to a 15.6" cause the other one had a battery big enough to start a motorcycle and weighed 8 Lbs; while this one weighs less then 5. It's a little faster processor and has twice the graphics memory; and 500GB hard drive; all for less then $300us. It's amazing what you can get in a basic lap top today compared to a few years ago. The first computer I bought 20 years ago cost 10 times what this one does and had a fraction of the capabilities of this one. But then again the programs are 10 times as big and use up the ram at a horrendous rate; so we are just keeping even on that front. This came with Windows 10 so I am glad I installed Win10 on the Windows 7 that the other one had; so I'm used to it.

I remember bringing home our first computer well over 20yrs ago, Amstrad1512, the children were 4 and 6. Man it was a wonder. Clunky, chunky graphics, MS Dos OS, 3.5? inch floppy discs. Now it's like talking about the first steam engine.

Does anyone ever spend time in the chat room? I was just there and for the first time a couple of other peoples were there. Maybe time zones is one reason why it doesn't seem to be used much. Also one can't have chat open and be occupied elsewhere on CF. Or?
Anyway

A fish swims into the Hangout. Happy boxing day! sez he to the empty space. Being careful not to slip on the wrapping paper and christmas cake crumbs he goes over to the juke box. What we need here is something to loosen up the fins and flippers, sez he.
