here's the stickler for me....if they knew the unknown wild gourds were poisonous, why'd they put them in there from the gitgo?

I hope I am not messing up the game, but it seems we can all learn a thing or two (as we are about to concerning Original Languages,) and THAT will make this game worthwhile!

The Gourds were UNKNOWN, and NOT Known to be Poisonous. When there is a group of people having trouble getting enough to eat during times of famine, they seek food where they can find it. Not everyone knows how to spot these things, and SOME things may appear to be OK when they are NOT.

It is only a hundred years or so that TOMATOES were not considered poisonous. People mostly used pewter for eating (plates, cups and flatware,) and the acid in tomatoes would leach out the LEAD. This caused lead poisoning, and caused people to drop into coma rather suddenly. This was too often mistaken for death, and, 400-500 years ago, people might be buried prematurely! More on that if you are curious...

DON'T be too concerned, though. Lead is only common in the lower grades of pewter, which have a bluish tint. Modern techniques allow this to be made without lead.

I must request help from yeshuaslavejeff, though, as I do not know enough about the Original Languages to answer his question. Starting to look at the Greek, and try to search back from that, but not sure I would find what he is asking from that.

Is the reference in Revelation 12? Am I even looking in the right place?

At first taste, someone yelled out, so no one did get sick or DIE. There was, maybe, someone who understood that a certain taste indicated the presence of poisonous, wild components, and sounded an immediate alert.

There was a dearth in the land, they still needed to eat, and desperately called Elisha to help. He gave them a directive that required faith, and they were all OK. The LORD miraculously removed the poisonous components, and the sons of the prophets ate the pottage safely.

note that the whole world supports and defends to the death (to many many many deaths) what they consider 'right', so there may be a ton of backlash from unredeemed sources. (flesh/worldly/etc ). that really just supports what is written in Scripture - who it is that has already deceived the whole world and is continuing to.... never was it more true that only a few find the narrow road to life while the whole world takes the wide road to destruction.... !

I don't think this game is meant for the original languages. God has got his word across for us understandably without having to know the original language. This isn't a study in the original language but a game. I highly doubt you can read all of Hebrew or Greek straight from the texts with proper grammar.

the Author let me know. (the only Hebrew and Arabic and Greek I can understand and know is true is what the Author tells me - same with you or anyone else.)
However,
this is simple also, and takes no more than simple search and word look up to find and eventually to verify. It is good to get in the practice of testing like the BEREANS to see what is true , and not to accept what the worldly says is true. It is potentially very important, for all levels of believers. Like to know from so many verses Who is the Messiah, likewise who is opposed to the Messiah ? Many people NEVER read with understanding or look for information that is VITAL to their walk and life of faith,
unless they become aware of it somehow.

And learning with games is certainly a very good way to learn, it would be so wonderful if the number of people who watch sesame street for fun
would read the Bible for Truth and enjoy it as much !

The lions did not eat the prophet as was intended by his enemies. WHERE is that written, WHY did they not eat the prophet, and WHO (besides God,) was the prophet's staunch advocate?

Daniel is the prophet. King Darius is his staunch supporter. God closed the mouths of the lions, so to speak, and that is why the lions did not eat Daniel. It is written here:

"Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him." ~Daniel 6:14 (Darius was Daniel's supporter)

We have the Sorcerer who is using drugs (Pharmacology) to deceive. There is a whole world of business wrapped around this, the world makes laws to protect this enterprise, and even requires people to participate (sometimes against their will.)

It is something I avoid, even when advice from the knowledgeable indicates it would be timely. While recovering from injury, or surgery, I have resisted the use of drugs. The LORD shows me things that spring from nature, used for centuries, that work as well or better without the side effects or DECEPTION.
