Matthew 6:
11 Give us today our daily bread.
daily
ἐπιούσιον (epiousion)
Adjective - Accusative Masculine Singular
Strong's 1967: For the morrow, necessary, sufficient.

HELPS Word-studies:
1967 epioúsios (from 1909 /epí, "upon, fitting" and 3776 /ousía, "being, substance") – properly, aptly substantive, appropriate to what is "coming on" (happening), i.e. suitable (apt) for the coming day.

Benson Commentary:
As the original word, επιουσιον, here rendered daily, is not found anywhere else; neither in the LXX. nor in any Greek author, nor in any other part of the New Testament, save in the parallel passage in Luke, commentators differ in their interpretation of it. That given by Theophylact, one of the most approved of the Greek fathers, seems the best: “Bread sufficient for our sustenance or support:”

Benson Commentary:

It is a controversial term in that it is a compound word that actually isn't a word at all. Sometimes it is translated as "super-substantial". It refers to the Eucharist.

Here's a breakdown of the various views and the difficulty in interpreting the meaning of the word:

A Eucharistic meaning is possible, it's one proposition that I personally like, but it's probably not possible to be certain. Even in the ancient fathers of the Church there seems to have been differing opinions.

Is that how you interpret what Jesus said: Give us today our daily bread? You don't have to have it daily?

I don't interpret that, someone else did. The interpreters used daily as merely a convenient word. But daily is not the correct translation of it. No one truly knows for sure what the English translation is.

Sure. That's reasonable :)
