So which of us isn't checking the evidence?

Well I seem to have checked it out more than you have. You bought it hook, line, and sinker. When all that you had to do was Google it to find out that there's nothing behind this story... it's just a story. But then one person cites it, and then Gary Habermas cites it and suddenly it's indisputable proof.

Dreams are remembered close to being awaken. The brain dreams several times during sleep. That's the only part of sleeping anyone remembers and not many of those either.

Anesthesia is a deep sleep where even pain isn't felt during sleep.

I did not pick anything compelling... just an easy to remember and relate example.
As I said I just picked a video at random and I remembered the example I did from a different video.

No one says NDEs don't exist. People who approach death-like states have reported experiences. Some of us just don't think they mean anything other than the brain does weird stuff when you deprive it of oxygen, etc.

Hypoxia creates distinctly different symptoms than NDEs. Hypoxia tends to create horrific experiences, that are confusing and not lucid like NDEs. And the brain during an NDE is full anoxia. Zero oxygen.
