Ok, just clicked over 30 pages of post.

Granted could not stand to read the endless banter, since banter is presumptuous in nature.

I may have missed it,but has there been any info on the origins of the Masons?

One comment was some were from the Bible.

Do the free masons trace back to Cain,in working with metals?

The true origin of Freemasonry is forever lost to history.

Masonic legends are based mostly on Old Testament stories and characters, and go back to the time of King Solomon and even back to the time of Noah. But they are just that: legend.

I do not recall any reference to Cain. The various Masonic lectures I have heard do not go back that far.

You are probably referring to the password/passgrip of the Master Mason degree, which is named 'Tubal Cain,' who is described as a metal worker. I doubt if any Mason would answer your question, because it would be seen as a violation of his obligation.

Check on ebay and you'll find emblems and canes with two balls on them, which is a reference to the name. It is part of what passes for 'Masonic humor.' Cordially, Skip.

No Obligation violation here: This Biblical character to whom you refer is related to Cain of Gen. 4:1, and his inclusion in the mythology of Freemasonry is very minor. Masonic mythology contains numerous Biblical characters, some minor, some very prominent.

Untrue. I've never before denied that I see my anti-Masonry activities as a 'crusade.' Cordially, Skip.

Hmm. Nice contradiction. First, you say it's not a crusade, then you say that you never denied that you see it as a crusade.

In the generations of Cain, they were workers of metals.

A Preacher was doing some teaching on the subject, and claimed the sons of Cain origin.

What is the purpose of the eye in the pyramid?

In the context of Freemasonry, I really don't know since it has never been displayed or used or explained in any of the Masonic bodies I am a member of. The "all seeing eye" is a pretty universal as a symbol of God. The eye and pyramid are allegedly symbolic of the Illuminati, however other than some of the original Illuminati members being Freemasons, there is no direct connection between the two which I am aware of, specifically concerning the Blue Lodge, York Rite Freemasonry, or Scottish Rite Freemasonry.

An uneducated guess, apparently. It probably is worth mentioning also that Masonic imagery centers upon stonecutters, not metal workers.

It is--as has been said already--a widely-recognized symbol for God. It actually doesn't appear in Masonic symbolism nearly as much as non-members suppose.
