.... because uniting all Christians was a vision that was impossible and based upon a faulty premise (all Christians are already ONE) , so a new vision was needed , is this vision clear for you ?

it's now just a Forum based (not Christ centered) Social Networking forum to give YOU a forum for social networking based on a forum that is for you , and it is social !

I think you're so right - HOWEVER, I do know Erwin was bombarded by complaints - (too bad he didnt just change what defines a CHRISTIAN and solve alot of it that way - he wouldn't have to remove what he has and water it down so much).

Erwin's post said we can still vote and change things - I'm looking into how that works.
Maybe we can vote ourselves silly and see what happens?

My only question is if the conservative Christian forums have a subforum for Eastern Orthodox. I can take part in "social networking" on a thousand or more different sites on the internet. Only Christian Forums had that name and that mission attached to it. Now that the name and mission has been flushed down the toilet, what appeal does this site have to any real Christian wanting to fellowship with other real Christians?

Yeah, I saw it when I was reading through. Its there. But you can hardly take one example and slap it on a whole group of people and say "SEE!! LOOK!! They're drooling with glee!!!"

I have been a site supporter for some time, but when it runs out, so be it--I will NOT renew until the name of Christ is returned to the site name. And yes, this just might be the last straw. I will now seriously consider leaving staff. The changes overnite are disgusting--and nothing more that that!

I am shocked but not surprised.

The site is much more sale-able now Erwin give it a few months and all those Bible believing Christians will go away and then you will have something worth selling.

You either fight for it & vote yourself silly to try to keep it, or you pack your bags up & go web searching for another one.

Believe me, Erwin is following his own heart & desires - I think the rules here went against the Biblically based Christian definition (at least it's central tenets - without getting too particular - like "the Bible is God's inspired word", The Trinity, Jesus crucifixion for atonement, repentance, need for salvation, God created all, etc etc.).

As it stood, people came in & said "the bible isn't God's word, but I"m a Christian" - and then the rules tied your hands behind your back by refusing to allow you to say "that's not Christianity"!
Boxing in a ring without any hands. So CF had caused the very reasons Erwin got so many complaints (from Christians) and either cant' spot what a Christian really is, OR REALLY ISN'T ONE HIMSELF!

Who knows, I let God sort it all out (and He will).

Well, I'm off to explore this new FORU.M.

Now it's more like an auto accident. You just sorta watch & pray for those that are hurt, and try to help them pick up the pieces.

Wow, personally I think this is a rather brave move by you Erwin.

Not entirely sure I like everything about the changes yet, but neither do I think its the work of satan or something as ridiculous as that.

I see a lot of judging of Erwin's motives for the change. He was pushed into it by a group that didn't like the changes of 7/7/07. Like was said on another site: don't play chicken with Erwin.

Well, let me just say that I am rather ambivalent about the name change. I think it is, perhaps, a bad move in terms of new members finding the site.

But what I am finding absolutely hilarious are the negative comments on the change made by many Christians in this thread! This sort of stuff just really, really cracks me up, on a number of levels.

1. To those of you worried that this site has now become secular, with the focus on Christ removed: guess what, this forum is what you people make it. Since you can vote on individual subforum rules, you can certainly vote to prevent discussion on certain issues within your favorite subforums. The name, really, changes nothing at all in this regard. All you are doing by getting upset and threatening to leave is ensuring that the site is more likely to become non-Christian! If you like the people you talk with here, if you like the culture of the site, it makes no sense whatsoever to leave. The name doesn't change the people you talk with, after all.

2. To those of you who feel the need to be protected from secular people, this just cracks me up all the more! The Truth, after all, can stand on its own merits. The Truth does not need protecting by anybody. That your beliefs need protecting, that Christians flee open discussion, is quite good evidence that your beliefs are just plain wrong. And it delights me to no end when I see Christians continuing to demonstrate this by continuing to cry for insulation from unbelievers.

So yeah, the forum change hasn't really delighted me at all, but the reactionary response of many Christians in this thread very much has! Keep up the absurdity and bad behavior, Christians! Show the world what your religion is all about!

I can see people viewing Ewrin as an unbeliever and Christians are exodusing CF to go to "sheltered" websites to keep non-believers out. We are to go into the world and preach the gospel, not get out of this world.
