I am presenting the documents as proof against Slander. Truth is an absolute defense against slander. Unproven assertions against the Masons will be proven false by the provable evidence of the fraternity. These document were taken from various websites and I personally verified them against actual Masonic Documents from lodges when possible.

Freemasonry is often criticized as being unchristian. Freemasonry is a private group not a secret one. A long time ago during the oppression of the theocracy, Freemasonry was a Secret Society of Christians. Because during that time in order to be a Mason you had to be a Christian. An applicant for membership had to profess a Faith in Jesus Christ. Even so, being a Freemason was a death sentence in some places. In some countries it still is a death sentence.

A Majority of Masons are Christians, so a Majority of Masons believe Jesus Christ is the Grand Architect of the Universe. In fact Jesus is referred to in Freemasonry. However, the Freemasons are militantly tolerant of differences in religious opinion and the membership includes good men of many different religions.

Freemasonry is much like in the Boy Scouts in that a member must take a vow to God. And just like Boy Scouts your god does not have to be the god represented in any particular denomination.

Questions

Who is against free association of good men outside of government or clerical control?

The question we have to ask is the fraternity:

• What it claims it is in its documents,
• What it teaches its youth to do and believe
• What it teaches its members to do
• What it explicitly teaches in its rituals
• What the Overwhelming Majority of its members believe it is
• What it does in the way of social action
• Represented by the founding principles of the United States of America

Or
Is the fraternity:

• What the unproven and unprovable assertions of its enemies say it is
• Wrong when it repeatedly claims and teaches the opposite of the willful misinterpretations of the meanings of its documents by enemies
• Lead by unknown people who are doing exactly the opposite of what the fraternity teaches and does, which is what the enemies of the fraternity assert without any proof
• A religion even though it repeatedly claims it is not, offers no plan of salvation and makes no claims of infallibility, divine revelation, or religious supremacy

My Observations

1) The substitute word is phonetic Egyptian and basically means “Treat each other excellently”. Contrary to what Mr Bill say, it is NOT Hebrew that means, "What the builder", no matter what a certain Satanist turned "Christian" speaker says.
2) The thirty-second degree restates the truth of the third degree, that you must find the light of God for yourself; rituals and books will not find it for you.
3) The 33-degree introduction explicitly restates that Freemasonry is NOT a religion and does not presume to be infallible. Consequently Freemasonry does NOT assert spiritual superiority to Religion.
4) The diverse lodges have different issues to deal with. In many Catholic dominated countries the RC Church has persecuted the masons and care and secrecy are important. In Some Arab countries it is a death sentence to be found a Freemason. In the US Freemasons help found the US, and Masonic principles were some of the basis of the original laws. In England, Freemasonry is very strong and loyal to the Queen.
5) Like the Templars and Protestants, many Freemasons have a very NonRomanCatholic view of Jesus that they must keep quiet.
6) Many good and sincere men work together in Freemasonry to accomplish Good things for their country and mankind.
7) Like any great light, Masonry attracts some BUGS.
