Exactly! That is the answer to this entire charade! You have no faith, your FSG has no gospel, no truth, no sincere followers! The false religion that you and others created is just a joke, my faith in Christ is real, it is something that I am conscious of. THAT is the difference between your insincere comparison and real religion. The spaghetti God people just look like a bunch of buffoons, comparing something that you don't even believe in with something that people do believe in based on a real person, with a real message with real followers that gives real hope to millions of people.

If you want to believe that Colter, that's fine. The point of the FSM analogy isn't to inspire followers...it's to compare two like concepts....your god and the FSM. The fact that your god has gospels and followers doesn't make it any more true than the FSM.

And yet we can present as much evidence for the existence of the FSM as you can for God. What does that tell you?

The simple act of believing something to be true does not automatically make it true. You do realize that, don't you?

Its always that we "want to believe" this or that. The fact is we do believe, you don't believe in the FSG straw man. It requires just a little intellectual integrity to see a difference between the teachings of Jesus and an invention of a spaghetti God who has no teachings.

......And Atheist tend to think the claims of religious people are not real. What, have we reached the end of the internet and are now starting over in the Atheist vrs religion discussion?

At least in terms of how likely I am to take bald assertions from you as useful.

It tells me that in all of the Atheist mental masturbation the cream of you argument is a spaghetti God. Followers with bowls on their heads, no doctrine, no love, no service to anyone, just the poor character defect of mocking religious people.

You just told me that you don't actually have a belief, its all a charade, when you say "their beliefs" you are lying.

Believing something to be true does not make it true. I can't believe that I have 1 million dollars and make the money poof into existence. That's not how reality works.

In the end, you are just mad that we don't also have faith based beliefs. That doesn't seem like a very good argument.

You joined a Christian forum to get what? You talk as if you were siting at the mall and we have come over to pop your prideful balloon and how dare we assert something unproven to you. Do you get some sick pleasure out of antagonizing religionists then retreating?

At the end of the day nonconformists are all alike.

Or maybe you are jealous that we live lives of faith, after all, you Joined a Christian forum when there are plenty of Atheist forums.

We are more concerned with the negative impacts that christianity has had on our society which is why we come here.

Psycho-analysis aside.

In a discussion about the differences between two religious ideas and how they might be differentiated in terms of how they are validated or if they can be correctly compared in that way, obviously taking the dogma of one religion at face value doesn't add anything to the discussion.

The context of being on a christian forum doesn't immunize you from scrutiny, it would be especially lazy to assume such.

Believing something isn't true, just because you have not yet experienced it yet, doesn't make it not true. It may be hard for you to face that you don't know everything, and maybe religious people are not conspiring together in the creation of an imaginary God.

To the exclusion of the vast amount of good that all religions have had in societal evolution. Your newly invented FSG hasn't done jack!

I wouldn't say FSM hasn't done jack....after all, he's done a good job of exposing the lack of evidence for your god in this thread.

I already understand that you think your religious ideas are legitimate, but generally the religious tend to fail at differentiating their ideas from make believe.

Then by the same token your false God hasn't validated your assertion that the faith of religious people is imaginary.

The reverse is true in the promotion of Atheism, you can't prove how your accusations aren't just imaginary make unbelief.
