I've looked into this and I it isn't clear whether its harmful or not. I'm talking even in the correct amounts, do the benefits outweigh the negatives?

Some sources say fluoride in appropriate amounts have no known negative impacts, then some sources say fluoride is harmful and should be avoided at all costs, no amount is safe not even a microgram.

It goes to that extreme. I have been wondering if maybe it's just a marketing ploy so they can sell their "All Natural toothpaste" to you. Or maybe they are correct but who knows?

One thing I do know however the most important thing is the mechanical action of brushing, that's the main job when it comes to oral care, along with flossing and eating foods that aren't acidic.

Safety is handled by the government agencies.
They add it to the water.

Edit: I would hope California would outlaw it judging from the research.
That would be a good start.

Well, think about this.

BEFORE it (sodium* flouride) was put in water supply ,
a company(-ies) in Texas had to pay to dispose of it as toxic waste. Then , when this all started, they convinced the government(s) to BUY THE TOXIC WASTE, and put it in the water supply...... so the company(-ies) no longer lose money (even if sued, they already made billions or trillions of dollars off it) ...
but make money....

Whenever anyone uses it, it makes their teeth and bones brittle, and affects the brain negatively.

When a city starts using it, the number of dentists goes up (considerably?/ doubles?) ...
When what is right is attempted to be published, a few people may then find out the truth and might benefit (their health), but it is always opposed by big money...

The more anyone looks into it, honestly, the less questions they have about this,
other than why and how did the gov and corporations deceive so many people for so long?

* footnote: CALCIUM flouride is (as far as known) very safe and non-toxic.

It is a by-product in the process of making aluminum. Just look up the substance and read about it.
One of the most toxic substances known. So does 1 part per billion in water make it safe?
I can't answer that but I choose to avoid city water like the plague.

I looked into it aswell , IMO paste is not as bad as water itself if you have fluoride in your water in the long run it's bad .
People lived for 200 years easily without toothpaste back then .

What I found from my research is that you can use salt with baking soda or baking soda + lemon and brush your teeth with it , not only will make them white but kill the bacteria who eat your tooths .

Bad breath is caused by bacteria aswell , just like sweat on your body is being eaten by bacteria and they poop on your skin and it smells .

Live is strange

Too much of anything can kill you. The poison is in the DOSE.
Really? As in the DOSE OF POISON (mercury, flu, or other) in one injection can kill many.
Some headache medications by prescription, forgetting they took one twelve hours ago (and it is ONCE PER 24 HOURS only per TOXICITY of DOSE)
someone has died taking another one.
This happens daily - side effects due to ONE DOSE. From seizures to death to paralysis, etc ....

The WARNINGS on the side of the tube of fluoride poison is this: IF a child swallows this, CALL the emergency room asap.
Long term effects are brittle bones, brittle teeth, and 'broken' neurological system.

I looked into it aswell , IMO paste is not as bad as water itself if you have fluoride in your water in the long run it's bad .

There is an area in Africa where the people have perfect teeth, and they simply use a twig broken or cut off from a certain tree to brush their teeth and gums with daily or whenever. No toxic chemicals ever needed.
(their diet is mostly UNpoisoned food and water also; not processed with toxic chemicals nor stripped of all life by heat and chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, colorants, etc ) So their diet is also vital / important for good teeth and gums and overall health of the body and brain.

When they come to the united states (land of the !?FREE?! ) ,
they are
allowed to bring ONE ONLY, ONE TWIG for their own use , with them.

Some toothpaste companies not using toxic chemicals have found a legally way to make it from a powder of those or similar tree twigs parts, and it is likely the best available at health food stores, when you can find it. It is likely not as good as the original twigs used in Africa, but may be the best commercially available in the usa.

Toothpaste is unnecessary.

Fluoride is now used in the public drinking water supplied to about 3 out of 4 Americans. The decision to add fluoride to drinking water is made at the state or local level. The types of fluoride added to different water systems include fluorosilicic acid, sodium fluorosilicate, and sodium fluoride.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set a maximum amount of fluoride allowable in drinking water of 4.0 mg/L. Long-term exposure to levels higher than this can cause a condition called skeletal fluorosis, in which fluoride builds up in the bones. This can eventually result in joint stiffness and pain, and can also lead to weak bones or fractures in older adults.

The EPA has also set a secondary standard of no more than 2.0 mg/L to help protect children (under the age of 9) from dental fluorosis. In this condition, fluoride collects in developing teeth, preventing tooth enamel from forming normally. This can cause permanent staining or pitting of teeth.

Three ingredients found in most toothpastes pose health risks if too much is ingested, according to Miskewitz.

Sorbitol, a liquid that keeps toothpaste from drying out, is a laxative that could cause diarrhea in children.

Sodium lauryl sulfate, an ingredient that makes toothpaste foam, can also be a diarrheic.

But the fluoride poses the most danger if too much toothpaste is swallowed -- particularly to younger children.

"When I receive the fluoride here, it has a skull-and-bones on it," Regina Miskewitz says of containers of the chemical at the Princeton, N.J., laboratories of Church & Dwight Co. Inc., maker of Arm & Hammer products, where she is director of research and development for oral and personal care.

"If a child was to take a big spoonful of this fluoride, I don't think he could swallow it," she says, "but if he did get it down, it is a poison and the child could die. If a child ingested a whole tube of toothpaste, he should be taken right to the emergency room and he would either get his stomach pumped or get some kind of antidote."
