Has anyone else heard about this yet? Just found the story on Yahoo. Personally I find it ridiculous to split FL into 2 states... As much as I hate living here...

Not sure what I think yet. That would be the place to divide it. I wonder where it would be on the west coast. I also wonder what types of laws would characterize each "state".

Oh, good grief! I saw something in passing in the local paper, but didn't pay it much mind. It's doubtful it'll pass. Good thing the governor isn't the only one with a sense of humor! I mean, really, this state getting divided, and now?

Just think of how many flags are going to have to be changed. How will they fit another star onto the flag? And which Florida would all the snowbirds go to in the winter time????

lol And on and on and on.....Closest thing in our history to match this was how West Virginia got formed, but that way back during the Civil War!! (Totally different situation though, considering the stupidest of this one!)

Does anyone live in Daytona Beach? I am moving there from the Tampa area next year. Just wondering what the area is like.

Daytona Beach is kewl - if you enjoy driving on the beach (I think you can stil do that, if not it is a great loss), NASCAR and Bike Week!!

I like Daytona ok, but not a fan of the traffic during those races!! lol Though I'm biased 'cause I work in hotels! The area is better than it's been, or so I understand it.

Thanks for your answers on Daytona. I live on the other side of the coast, i'm about 5 miles from the beach right now, so that wont be much different. My fiancee and I are getting married soon, and when im done with school, we are moving there so he can finish school. Should be fun

There's been some shark attacks there recently, enough to put Daytona on one of the world's most dangerous beaches. I think it fell at #17.
