Probably because in that former nature the normal course of events for most life on earth, including man, was that we returned to dust very very fast. Too fast to leave remains! The fossil record is NOT a record therefore of life on earth, only of the very few creatures that for whatever reasons could leave remains.

In John it says that in the beginning was the word, the only thing like this in the beginning part of the bible was in the KJV where the Voice of God was walking around in the garden.

So yes, I believe God spoke everything into existence, and Jesus is the voice or word that did it.
