I am not sure why, "Jesus walking on water" gets "in the way of science". There are all manner of creatures that walk on water, including humanity. Most of the times it simply involves surface tension, and displacement.

During a raging storm?

During a raging storm?
We also have Tibetan monks flying, a variety of Christian saints levitating as well as Hindu mystics levitating (not the show illusions). If one can walk on water or fly, a storm, even a raging one is no big deal.

Do they work for Monty Python?

Have you ever seen one?

There's a lot of stuff that floats on water.

But walking on water during a raging storm is another.
I can do it.

Provided, of course, the water is very, very cold.

I think that, if God wanted, each and every star could have 5, 6, maybe 10 or a thousand of its own wormholes.

Maybe even a billion or two.

I doubt it myself.

But I hope you see the point I'm making.

Evidently wormholes can't be seen.

So if they exist, they must exist in the spiritual realm.

Sorry. The fact that wormholes are mathematically possible does not mean they can exist. If wormholes really existed we would be able to detect them. ( How to spot a wormhole (if they exist) ) None has ever been found.

To illustrate: Hiring -10 people and get a job that requires 70 man days done in -7 days is mathematically possible . But in reality? No.

By Occam's Razor, any hypothesis that multiplies entities is unlikely. You need multiple hypothetical wormhole entities to explain all the stars. Each wormhole you postulate is unlikely. When you postulate billions and billions? Nope.

Carl Sagan can speak of billions of things in space.

But with all due respect sir, you are no Carl Sagan.

The problem with wormholes has already been explained to you: Wormholes to Heaven.

Hold on and hear me out.

Obviously we do detect wormholes everywhere! They shine light directly at us (but only from far away- there are no worm holes closer than about 6000 light years away, obviously). Obviously anything 6000 ly or less is obviously an actual star. Light from further is from a star who's total energetic output is obviously shunted much further away by a wormhole to only look as if a star is further than about 6000 ly away.

It's obvious.

Edit: the gravity of the stars are also shunted through the wormhole.

Edit 2: Somehow

Edit 3: and planets, probably

That's true.

And even if they were mathematically impossible, they would still exist if God so willed them to.

If wormholes really existed we would be able to detect them.

Are you sure?

Can scientists spot an angel, if one showed up at one of their parties?

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

To illustrate: Hiring -10 people and get a job that requires 70 man days done in -7 days is mathematically possible . But in reality? No.

How about mathematically impossible?

Like feeding 5000 people with a small lunch kit?

By Occam's Razor, any hypothesis that multiplies entities is unlikely. You need multiple hypothetical wormhole entities to explain all the stars. Each wormhole you postulate is unlikely. When you postulate billions and billions? Nope.

Fair enough.

You can employ science, mathematics, and razors to convince yourself that wormholes can take a hike; but then, what does that do for you?

It puts you right back to Square One, wondering how light got to us from a million lightyears away.

Carl Sagan can speak of billions of things in space.

But with all due respect sir, you are no Carl Sagan.

The problem with wormholes has already been explained to you: Wormholes to Heaven.

Then wander around in the wilderness about it.

But don't ask me to explain it to you, or I'll give you an explanation that neither you, Occam, nor Carl Sagan can even begin to handle.

They're right. Boats float.

This was an Ark though.

And no ordinary Ark.

I don't believe it had any nails, screws, pegs, nuts, bolts, fasteners, or anything else.

Just boards held together with pitch.

Try building one yourself.

It'll fall over as soon as you put three boards on top of one another.

I believe this Ark was a supernatural containment vessel that, if hit by a torpedo with a nuclear warhead, wouldn't even mar the surface.

If you can walk on water, a raging storm is no big deal.

Then test it yourself, if you're so scientifically-minded.

Just alert your next-of-kin you won't be home tonight, because you are going to employ the scientific method to a Bible verse.

Some people who talk big science get put in their place at times, don't they?

If you can walk on water, a raging storm is no big deal.
And rumors spreading about in a superstitious
and generally illiterate time and place is more
normal than throwing a silver dollar across the
Potomac.

You will be thrilled to find out that I was willing to search beyond childlike teaching to find the truth. I grew up in Sunday school, Christian schools, and Bible studies. I was taught what to believe.

And then I started search beyond the faith I inherited. See How My Mind Was Set Free.
Inherited faith is the worst. So are religious institutions. I was rc, and trust me, I tried to find God there. See John's Gospel to see how I finally escaped and found The truth :) John 14:6

I have a feeling my theology doesn't need to be "idiosyncratic" for science to get in its way.

Jesus walking on water got in the way of science.
And water into wine :)
