? Of course God knew all advances man would make.Yeah well you also have to take into consideration that the scriptures were written during a time when no one knew what kind of technological advances mankind would achieve.
Of course. We go from light to light. Always learning, growing etcThere were a lot of things that changed from the Old Covenant that weren’t revealed until the New Covenant, so there will probably be even more revealed that was unexpected at Christ’s second coming.
With billions in wealth, Musk lives in a different reality from the rest of humanity. He will think up ridiculous ways to spend his money because he can. As for non believers in this discussion, I think it is unanimous that colonizing Mars is not only an unviable idea, it is a colossal waste of money and effort that could be focused on managing our planet’s resources better to ensure human life on Earth. The players promoting the idea of fleeing earth are not Christian nor are most of the people discussing the issue on the thread, apparently. Perhaps it is not just Christians that need to think about the issue. One would hope almost all of them already know that escape from earth is not possible.
Amen. Put money into people, don't funnel it out to spaceWith billions in wealth, Musk lives in a different reality from the rest of humanity. He will think up ridiculous ways to spend his money because he can. Yeah, mars is an environment that you can’t rely on to provide any resource at all. Man would have to manufacture everything that is needed to survive. The odds of survival would be severely stacked against him.It couldn't become a self-sustaining colony with the resources on Mars (presuming best-case scenarios of those resources) unless they also artificially limited their numbers to a quite small total...maybe only a couple of hundred or so.
The problem with a small colony is that it would be a "complex-simple" system. It would be complex enough to have thousands of ways to perish, but too simple to have more than a few ways to survive. It would end up like Roanoake.
Yeah God knew everything but He didn’t reveal everything. Look at how much was revealed in the New Testament that wasn’t revealed in the Old Testament. God foreknew everything but He didn’t reveal everything.? Of course God knew all advances man would make.
Of course. We go from light to light. Always learning, growing etc
I do agree with you however that it is a futile effort to try to save mankind from extinction because man won’t become extinct on the earth until Judgement Day and according to the scriptures everyone will be judged on that day. So people aren’t going to remain on mars after Judgement Day.? Of course God knew all advances man would make.

The more I interact here, the lower my opinion of Christianity, Christian morality, and Christians generally goes.OK, so you have an opinion. Apparently long ago you had a different opinion. Hopefully in the future you will also have a different opinion. Meanwhile, we have to take it for what it's worth.
The Sanhedrin was the power structure, the Pharasees were a religious faction. They are not equivalent.Actually, I think the Sanhedrin is back.
"The Sanhedrin in Jerusalem, in some ways, like that of the Supreme Court in the United States, has made an official ruling that is making massive waves around the world by calling on all Jews come home to Israel.
“We are the rabbinic court of Jerusalem and we have officially ruled that all Jews around the world have an obligation to do whatever is in your power, to come to the land of Israel, and that is the mitzvah of Torah (Biblical requirement).”
The Sanhedrin’s ruling was sent out to Jews worldwide in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, French, and Spanish.
Jews can individually choose not to follow the mitzvah that commands Jews to live in Israel, but will be in disagreement to the Sanhedrin."

Not going to get me to violate the board rules by "debunking" the bible.List two in the bible that were debunked?By the way, you might not realize that the lives of believers are filled with many miracles. None of which are debunked.
Many are eerily specific actually. Name a bible prophesy that is meaningless and vague?
The brain is a weird thing. Why would I say the experiences of people were not real? I may say that they were not of God's spirit. But there are many spirits in the world. Therefore many spiritual experiences.
This should be in the Christian only section. Not ethics and morality.“If there’s something terrible that happens on Earth, either made by humans or natural, we want to have, like, life insurance for life as a whole,” Musk said in 2020. He wants to turn the planet into a self-sustaining colony, and he reportedly told SpaceX staffers last year he envisions one million people living on Mars by the 2040s.

Elon Musk Says He Wants To Send Humans To Mars As Soon As 2029
Musk—who has a history of setting unrealized goals for his companies—says he wants to send humans to Mars by 2029, though he says 2031 may be more likely.www.forbes.com
The bible tells us Jesus is returning to earth to rule. There is no escape. Wasting trillions trying to avoid the fate of man on earth is in my opinion a waste and not of God at all.
Thoughts?
So the poor are wicked? I never knew that is what Christians believed.Maybe that is one reason He said the poor would always be here. He knows the wicked heart of man and how love of God and each other would not be a priority.
I took that post to mean that the wicked heart of man would not relieve poverty in the world, even though it's possible within the resources we have available to us.So the poor are wicked? I never knew that is what Christians believed.
This website is a teaching experience for Christianity and no mistake.
Such as any weapon up there. They are not for decorations. You do realize there are oodles of weapons circling us as we speak?
True. We don't know it all yet.Yeah God knew everything but He didn’t reveal everything. Look at how much was revealed in the New Testament that wasn’t revealed in the Old Testament. God foreknew everything but He didn’t reveal everything.
I agree that the wicked will not be able to stay there if they do get there.I do agree with you however that it is a futile effort to try to save mankind from extinction because man won’t become extinct on the earth until Judgement Day and according to the scriptures everyone will be judged on that day. So people aren’t going to remain on mars after Judgement Day.
Careful, you have no idea how low it can goThe more I interact here, the lower my opinion of Christianity, Christian morality, and Christians generally goes.
Same name. A bunch of religious nutballs dressed to the hiltThe Sanhedrin was the power structure, the Pharasees were a religious faction. They are not equivalent.
So you want to pretend you could. OKNot going to get me to violate the board rules by "debunking" the bible.
Taking my life as an example, there are no miracles that happen that have or ever will be debunked. Try againAnd it was those everyday miracles that are debunked every day.
God helps us with the weird thoughts thingie if we let HimThe brain is a weird thing.
There is no ethics or morality without the Christian perspective as much as you might like to squash or make it go away. There is a word for ethics without God - wickedness. This should be in the Christian only section. Not ethics and morality.
That said, if moving to Mars meant one could avoid eternal damnation who wouldn’t want that for oneself?
Me either since you just made that up and molested a quote totally out of context. So the poor are wicked? I never knew that is what Christians believed.
Great. Learn then I guessThis website is a teaching experience for Christianity and no mistake.
Yes of course really. Is that a definition of worship? In this context? Really?
