You were saying this in answer to my point that my brother, who is a Christian and believes Genesis 1 and six literal days of creation, can testify to a globe earth. You claimed that amateur astronomers (which would include my brother) are believing a lie told to them since kindergarten. That insinuates that they don't think for themselves and are therefore somewhat stupid.

My brother does not believe in evolution and has therefore rejected lies that were told to him since kindergarten. You were the one to bring this up, that amateur astronomers are believing lies.

You seem to think that if someone bases his belief of a globe earth on his own personal observations, he is believing a lie and must also believe in evolution. That's nonsense.

He can not testify to a globe earth, all he can do is believe and repeat what he has been told. Unless he is getting in a rocket and going high enough to see that the creation God created is a globe out in space.

He can testify to a globe earth based on his observations. He can do that because if the earth is flat and stationary, his observations would not make sense. It's obvious you have closed your mind. As I said my brother does not just believe what he has been told. He was told evolution is true. He rejects that and is very emphatic about it.

He is not showing the context of this document. He also doesn't seem to understand the practice of simplifying assumptions. He claims that when something is assumed then it is known to be true. That is false. There are what are called simplifying assumptions or ‘idealization’. These are assumptions which, even if not true, have no or negligible effect when explaining or solving a problem. And that’s exactly what is in the document shown by Dean Odle, a simplifying assumption.

Because the curve of the earth doesn't matter if an aircraft is already following the curve of the earth. In essence the aircraft is 'level' while following the curve of the earth, in other words it is maintaining the distance between it and the center of the earth.

Assuming a flat earth takes out any added complications with what you would call "gobbledygook equations".

Again you are conflating globe earth evidence with evolution. I believe as my brother does, that God created the earth in six literal 24 hour days. And I believe the earth is a rotating globe. And the GREAT part of this is that one day you will know the truth.

If they admit the earth is flat, then they must be telling the truth (according to you) and you must believe them. But you said you will never believe them. You're contradicting yourself.
