Have you not heard of aereonautical cruise???? How can you say planes follow the curvature of the earth?!? What kind of logic/science is that!

You CANNOT have it both ways. A plane cannot be adjusting for curvature AND not adjusting for curvature at the same time.

How can they cruise at a constant altitude? Remember, it's 580 mph......with the curvature being 8" per mile.

If a plane cruises at a constant altitude from the earth, then the plane will follow the curvature of the earth. I'm not sure what the problem you see with 580 mph, and 8"/mile curvature. Here is an idea. Draw a circle on a piece of paper. Now draw a bigger circle using the same center as the smaller circle. See, you can draw a circle that remains the same distance away from another circle. You adjusted for curvature and "not adjusted for curvature" at the same time.

He may not be trying to be deceptive. Some of what you call horizons are not actual horizons in pictures, as the lenses of all cameras distort. Here is an article on lens distortions, that if we are unaware of these distortions, they can cause us to see horizons as anything depending upon the distortion in the lens, which is also a function of aperature opening.

As one person pointed out, all we know of the globe is NASA or the military. Prove a globe without them.

Columbus, Magellan, etc. etc.

So how about this?

Step 1: Take a flight to Hawaii.
Step 2: Take a flight from Hawaii to Japan.
Step 3: Take a flight from Japan to Africa.
Step 4: Take a flight from Africa to England.
Step 5: Take a flight from England to NY.
Step 6: Take a flight from NY to LA.
Step 7: Take a flight from LA to Hawaii.

Make sure you look out the windows at all times during your flight. Take your own digital camera (decidedly without the Fish Eye Lens!), too while you're at it.

Lemme know how you did it on a Flat Earth.

2). Alaska -> Russia.
3). Russia -> England.
4). England -> Iceland.
5). Iceland -> Greenland.
6). Greenland -> NY.
7). NY -> Grande Prairie.

Same thing. In fact, you're a lot less likely to think you "teleported" because 90% of this route is flown over land except for a tiny strait between Alaska and the NE Tip of Russia, and of course the gaps between England, Iceland, and Greenland (which really aren't all THAT large).
