In case you're interested, herre is a link to a review of Serenity by Orson Scott Card who wrote the Ender's Game books:

For those of you who were disappointed that Serenity had an opening weekend at #2 behind Nicole Kidman's new release, keep in mind that her movie was playing in over 1500 more theaters than was Serenity.

Serenity didn't exactly have any big name movie actors in it either, which probably placed a damper on advertising.

I saw one as I was passing through Stratford station (as in London) last night. Which felt weird. I was sorely tempted, but I decided to behave myself. For now. :D

Just a couple of days to go now...

David.

Wow I didn't realize there were so many firefly fans. I went and saw serenity last weekend excellent I really enjoyed seeing all the characters again. For all the british fans that haven't seen it yet your in for a real treat. I was a little worried because one of the reviews I read said the graphics were "cookie-cutter". I wasn't sure what the reviewer meant by that, but the graphics in my opinion were not "cookie-cutter" :)

My flatmate used to do that. I never quite have the nerve.

I've now seen the TV eps Serenity, The Train Job, and Bushwhacked. And am enjoying it immensely - I can quite get a fix on it, but it seems strongly reminiscent of the old Sci-Fi roleplaying game Traveller, which I enjoyed muchly back in the early '80s. Good stuff. Going to see the film tonight hopefully, depending on where and when it's on.

David.

Dunno if anybody's already mentioned it, and it's probably a little late in the game, but I ran across this really cool international trailer for Serenity. There's definitely a mix of everything from the first two US trailers and more! Great stuff!

Friday's episode of Firefly was REALLY good! I didn't catch it from the beginning, but it was this black guy bounty hunter who somehow got on the ship and wanted to take River in for the reward. How River fooled and defeated him was really GREAT!!!!
