I wasn't meaning to condemn wearing such things, however I do think it can be dangerous on how one portrays himself/herself to be. That's what I was getting at.
I personally knew you werent as you already knew about my cross and "wearing practices" :p

Most people that wear a cross DO, do so for the wrong reasons.

It's interesting this is the topic though, because I myself am debating buying a gold cross to match my gold chain.

I can't wear the chain on it's own, feels really wrong, and I think it'd feel wrong for me to wear a gold cross. My Dad always wore a gold cross and it matched him, but for me I don't know - too much wrong meanings seem to be attached to it if I wear it.

But I'm kind of stuck, because I don't like the look of other chains/crosses that aren't gold or the idea of wearing something that is "cheap" material when it comes to a cross. I also don't like the look/feeling of wearing jewellery that's made of wood or sterling silver or things like that - just me personally.

I want to show that I'm a Christian though, visibly and physically so when someone passes by they're like "Oh, a Christian". That way when I do good works they'll know where it comes from.

Thus, I'm stuck and undecided.

Makes me think of how people were touched by the power of God through Peter and Paul without them even laying on hands or anything. That's a subject that deserves some serious attention. Proverbs (25:2)

I was merely speaking of my own experience and what I see where I live, and of course, my own convictions. It may not be the case for you. Ask Father what you should do, He knows your heart and intents. I was speaking from those I've seen wear a cross and totally act contrary.

For me, I keep thinking about this passage Romans 2:25-29:
Don't let what I say or others say influence you, but rather let God be your influence.

Paul said to the women dont adorn yourself with pearls and costly array (meaning gold jewellery etc) to show how christian you are but your adornment is a meek and quiet spirit and the good works you do.

Im sure that would apply to men as well.

when I first read the Old Testament, I found God's power to be very interesting. When I then read the New Testament, I was astonished of the things that Jesus can do, and how people hated him.

then when I re-read the Old Testament, I noticed that most of the things that Jesus did were not too fairly unique; as prophets, in the Old Testament, were also bringing back the dead and healing sicknesses under the command of God. Also; these prophets were hated almost as much as Jesus, and many of them were killed in the Old Testament.

After reading both Testaments a few more times, I began to equally like both Testaments. Both show me how God looks after His children in distress.
Nice. I need to read more of the old testament, I haven't read it all the way through yet. How many times have you read both of them?

I dont really know of any other series of 66 books I would rather read.

Actually I dont know any series that had a really good ending and lasted more than 66 books or if it did it all ended in schlock when the writers ran out of ideas.

I think many of us have done time for speaking up and sharing the gospel and lost jobs because of it. Most people won't tell you about all the stuff that goes down once you become a christian and how people start hating on you simply for doing what Jesus did.

Rosa Parks was jailed and she got death threats. She also couldn't work in that state anymore. She's been on my mind lately as you can tell. I thank God gave her the courage.

Recently, I've been trying to get back close to God. I have not been as close to Him as I have been in the past. I know I fail Him. I am grateful that I have a Father who always forgives and always welcomes back. I've been thinking about His faithfulness and how it is unending. Like David, I want Christ to restore unto me the joy of my salvation.

my neighbour wrote to me and said he's been saved! Another guy witnessed to him and he said the sinners prayer but he said he didn't feel any different but he was blessed.

Hallelujah! I was praying for him for years. Can you all pray that he grow in faith. Thanks.

The growth of faith reminds me of gardening. We sow the seeds, but it is God who waters the garden. The roots underneath remind me of Christians ministering to one another to help each other grow. Growing is subtle but stands out all the same. It is God that helps us bare fruit. Really, it is us and Father who really are working together and is what I see in His will for us.

He really does work in mysterious ways.

That is wonderful, sometimes, I tend to feel down about the world. But people are still being saved, and it is a wonderful world after all.

Think the moravians prayed round the clock and thats how revival happened. These days so many distractions but its deinfitely needed. With all the retired babyboomers just wonder what they doing with all their time.

If they christians they could be praying.
