I used to suffer depression as well, as a vast majority do, but I don't anymore by the grace of God. However, I suffer other things all for the sake of growing faith in Him. Things He wants to me see or pay attention to to bring Him glory. :yellowheart:

Daniel 10 -

13 “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for 21 days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me after I had been left there with the kings of Persia.”

20 “… I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I leave, the prince of Greece will come. 21 No one has the courage to support me against them except Michael, your prince…”

There’s a lot more that could be said about this chapter obviously but what an awesome glimpse we are given into the life of this angel. A surprising one as well. Thank God for the beings of His creation who recognize who He is, who they are in Him, trust Him and as a result are full of courage.

Angels are the hosts of heaven...its amazing all the (unseen) work they do.

I was thinking about the story of Moses and how God spoke to him out of the burning bush but later in the bible it mentions its actually an angel appearance. (Angels are Gods messengers) i imagine they are so bright and dont cast any shadows that if they were hiding in the bushes it would seem like it was burning up. Or glowing.

Deuteronomy 1

I read this last night when I couldn't sleep. It was about Moses and God's punishment of Israel's rebellion when they decided not to put their full trust in Him to take possession of the land He was going to give them. After hearing God's anger from their rebellion, they pretty much said "ok, ok. We will obey and take possession the land." Then God said that He wasn't with them and that they would be defeated if they went now.

It seems harsh after the 40 years of wandering, but they doubted God's power in aiding and providing for them - even AFTER rescuing them from Egypt.

Such a long time to be wandering in the desert. God provided for them the whole time though...even so much as the shoes on their feet not wearing out, literally.

My favorite part in the desert is when Moses made them eat their gold idols powder hahaha. Oh man... he was so mad.

"The cross to which we nail ourselves... May we ever use it as the gruesome, public method of death for which it was intended." It's not sweet and pretty... it's not lightweight. The choice to join Him and die to ones self is a daily battle, even moment by moment. Yet I have no burdens... I have no worries, my only fear is of the Lord, completely awestruck by Him and His glory. The only One from which I seek approval. I bow down in service and worship with my everlasting life. The joy of the Lord is my strength.

Its amazing to hear about the welsh revival, which is now a distant memory for most people. One of our church members is welsh, I must ask him if he remembers it. It might be his parents generation.

Amen to that!
Everyday at work I see customers have a beautiful cross around their neck and all I can think of is do you really know what that means? It's far too easy for the cross to become cliche and become numb to the reality of the action. I make it a point to remember that it is we who Christ replaced on the cross and died to us all. It's not a pretty sight, but the meaning behind it is. The cost of love is to sacrifice oneself for another and that is exactly what Christ did all for the will of the Father, so that we would not be left behind.

The "Scientology" approach to Christianity.... the more you spend on your cross..... the more devoted you are..... make sure to show it off...... cause its all about the image......

Thats weird the people that wear crosses I know tend to be the most hypocritical. They may have it even tattooed on their back but dont mean they are christians.

The cross means Jesus died for you..but also rose again. Many people seem to act like Jesus died and thats it, I can do whatever I like!

Yep :(

While I don't fully understand/grasp the work Christ did on the cross (as I'm a new Christian and just learning these things), I do notice people wearing crucifixes and crosses a lot and wonder "do they really believe? Do they really follow after Christ?"

When I was in jail, it was a "cool" and "gangster" thing to wear crosses around your neck or to get Christian tattoos. Often, even when I'm free, I'll notice violent gangster-like people wearing crosses around their necks. I believe it's often for show, for them to say to the world that they are really just good inside, a diamond in the dirt so to speak, when in reality they're just violent, wicked people. Wolves in sheep's clothing.
Prayer hands tattoos were also very common, along with slogans like "only God can judge me" and such - I can't tell you how many tattoos like that I've seen - almost all if not all their owners being terrible people.

I wear a cross, but I wear it for me.

Most of the time its under my shirt (unless I lay down, hang upside down.... etc. some action that allows it to fall and be shown) the times its visible its usually cause I have no shirt on or as just stated, it fell from under my shirt.

If its out I don't speedily try to hide it, nor if its hidden to I try to show it...... it is what it is and either way I have no shame.

I "never" take it off (only to shave my head as the razor can get caught on it and mess with the blade since I can't see behind me. I just take it off rather than catch it with the razor)

The cross I had before this one was also one I never took off, but it had a Catholic look to it and I strongly disagree with Catholic practices..... to each their own.. but...... when it comes to Catholic beliefs..... we have to agree to disagree (If you're Catholic)

Very well said!
It reminds me of the verse that explains not to be a Jew outwardly, but rather inwardly. The same applies to a Christian.
