No, a true theory would be "Silk burns in a propane torch flame because..."
, but I had a theory it would because I have seen cotton burn, a similar material, and both used for clothing..
I see you aren't paying attention either, but I love these comments, just as much as I do seeing exactly what I expected to see.
My actual theory was a true theory, yet you all insist on seeing that theory as something other than what i clearly explained....hilarious.

You didn't even present a theory at all. You presented an hypothesis.

According to the following, if I presented one, I presented the other. So you are right in that it's a hypothesis, but wrong in hiding the fact that is the same as a theory, or maybe it was just out of ignorance? Oh, and if anyone else needs help with nomenclature here, just ask...happy to oblige.

First you need to tell me what you now think my theory was exactly? We can move on from there.
Many creationists have the paranoid notion that they are under some kind of attack and regard explanations of specialized scientific vocabulary and word usage as an attempt to bamboozle them.*sigh* and I'm sure you have been told many times that the way science uses the term "theory" is not the same colloquial usage that you are doing here. A theory is an EXPLANATION for a set of related hypotheses and observations. Again, it is an explanation, not a proposition.
You wonder why we "aren't getting" your point. It's because you are demonstrating a fundamental misunderstanding about what a scientific theory is. We know what you are trying to argue, but you are basically arguing against a strawman version of when we say theories are not proven. YOUR definition of theory is not the same as what we are using. So who cares if your colloquial theory is proven correct? It has absolutely nothing to do with whether scientific theories can be proven or not. Utterly irrelevant.
Since I've joined this site the phrase "common sense" lost all meaning to me.
I've talked to people who think its common sense that the earth is flat, that vaccines cause autism, that the Illuminati control all governments, that the earth is 4000-6000 years old and so on.
Common sense doesn't seem to be very reliable if you ask me.
Thanks for your confession. Its nice to see someone so straightforward and honest about how they form their opinions. The ones I don't agree with. Because I don't agree with them. That's the way I do science.
The outermost electrons would be a few hundred metres away.If protons were the size of peas, how far away would their electrons be?
Regarding the physical mechanism, the fixation of mutations and alteration of DNA over successive generations, this is all evolution is. It is of course observed fact. So the question then simply becomes, how long has this process been going on? And what evidence is there for this processes occurance over longer periods of time?
That's why you don't want to leave out prayer for divine guidance.
On CF there is a constant bombardment of godless posters (people speaking who know not God is, and active in present world) who have set the Bible aside likewise - but want to educate us of reality, even of this world.Well, as Voltaire said, "Common sense is not so common." That's why you don't want to leave out prayer for divine guidance.
