Considering the evolutionists were trouncing the creationists on the Evolution Fairytale forum and some of the mods had to resort to banning most of the evolutionists (Labeled as trolls) I really doubt the hacking of that board was some sort of evolutionists tactic to stop creationists.

Oh and yes, I was banned there for being a "troll." The total amount of trolling I did was to argue against Admin3 and then PM him and Fred to find out what was going on. No real explanation was given. Although considering how the bannings happend after that, it became apparent that the ban tool was being used in place of actual debate.

Same here. I was suspended for being a member of another (skeptic) forum and labeled a troll for that reason. I asked for clarification but no real explanation was given (other than that I was threading on thin ice already, which isn't an explanation).

I don't know why you guys bothered in the first place. Fred has an exceedingly long history of being unable to think clearly, and is just in the game for the opportunity to congratulate himself. Onan would be proud.

Well, I must say that it was interesting for the time being. I thought the creationists there were actually a bit higher caliber than the ones we get over here. I expected to be banned, so that I got suspended was no real surprise.

I agree with Tom, I did expect a bit more of a challenge, without the backup of the scientists and learned people like on this forum, but review of Fred's site eliminated that, and further conversation fixed any expectation of a challenge at least from Fred.

The one thing that I was hoping for was a paper Fred promised (sort of) about C-14 dating and coal. Unfortunately he refused to post any detailed information about it in any thread including my C-14 thread I made (which got practically zero creationist reply). He said it refuted the T.O. claims about C-14 in coal. I wonder why I could never get him to give any information about it.

The forums did do some good, I remember seeing one creationists who supposably took off to another forum because of the heavy handed and one sided moderating.

Addition: I still believe 33% that Fred is a parody that has managed to fool tons of people. His arguments come off as a Hovind parody and he even uses EAC hosting.

Not only that, but somehow every guest-book entry between Feb 15th and Mar 3rd was "inadvertantly" over-written when Fred "accidentaly" put a back-up copy of the guestbook up. His forum is under the sub-directory "/forum" while his guestbook is under "/guestbook_data". I fully admit to not being a genius in the relevant field but it's impossible to "inadvertantly" do something in the entirely wrong directory like that without trying REALLY hard.

All this talk of heavy moderation reminds me of my early experiences with the internet back in the mid 90's. I was a member of a YEC listserv, the owner of which used to edit posts before they were sent out to the other members. (!)

Often this amounted to inserting editorial into the text of your post (annoying) or worse, deleting segments of your posts that he deemed undesirable. Sometimes my contributions went out to the other members reading like complete rubbish.

At least online forums, no matter how heavily moderated, allow your post to appear initially as you intend it.

That Ari comment in the picture was great. Too proud = I chose to discuss it over PM instead of his forum. He reads like he has some power issues, as he was only happy if I did things his way.
Not wanting to play in his cooler was what got me moved from an unexplained suspension (most likely from disagreeing with him) to a ban.
