CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just got the Ebony Mail (Skyrim:Ebony Mail - UESPWiki) for the first time while I was already sporting Ebony armor. So now that I can properly use it, I'm temped to join the Assassin's Guild all over again.
One thing. The smoke effect does spoil my aim when lining up a bow shot. That's gonna take some getting used to.

DAWNGUARD!
My brother sent me an email. And in that email was a link to redeem my gift of Dawnguard from EB Games. My brother is awesome!
I haven't explored it yet. But I did craft some Ebony arrows! Just a lil Firewood and an Ebony ingot. I have noticed there are now roving bands of Vampires. So that's cool. And I just happened upon a new cave full of them. They killed me a few times before I finally got them.
Can't wait to get mah crossbow...

So I got my crossbow! It's weird. It [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] by itself, then you have to "draw" to center it. I haven't got the hang of it yet.
Dawnguard has been fun so far. Now a vampire attack can happen any time, anywhere. Three vampires attacked *inside* Whiterun! That was pretty cool.

Wow these are some really great tips. I haven't been playing long, I think I'm only on level 12. Just had a heck of a time getting past the Diplomatic Immunity quest (my dang weapons were never in the chest!) LOL yep I'm a newbie.

That one zapped me the first time! I think I actually never passed my weapons to the guy to stash them for me. So I had to beat one guard bare-handed and put on his armor and weapons. Ah, n00bhood.
Keep us up to date on how your game is going! What type of character are you playing? What race?

I'm a Breton...just a regular dude.
So now I am stuck at the magic school. I got in, and was sent to join the old guy that looks like Gandalf. I'm supposed to cast some kind of spell but nothing I do works...he just stands there staring at me. Well unless I shoot fire at him but then everybody gangs up and kills me.

Has anyone got the heart fire dlc yet...is it any good? I always run out of room to display my trophie. I now have pretty much all the town guard shields (don,t ask how I got them) that I,m hanging up

What brings you to skyrim newbie, you might want to learn some smithing ...and get a decent sword maybe...and learn some spells...do you know any good thu'ums. I recommend the bannered mare at white run they do a great mead!

I'm totally addicted to Skyrim. I've been playing now for 210 hours and I'm on my second character. I just wish the Dragonborn DLC would come out on PC already.

Be sure to play different types of characters. It feels like a different game each time you switch. I felt I was *really* playing Skyrim the way it was meant to be played when I went outside my comfort zone and played a Nord two-handed, heavy armor, barbarian. So fun!
I normally like a bow or magic.
