I think that evolutionary theory has it's roots in that. I remember when I was in grade school. People use to ask the question: "do you believe in God, or do you think the universe just happened all by itself". I beleive that evolutionary theory was born out of a desire of non believers to try to explain the world we live in, without giving the honor and the Glory to God.

Well, since science corrects it's errors, and this error was well and truly corrected as early as 1927, and never accepted by many people anyway, to keep raising something that was settled nearly 80 years ago seems pretty petty.

Tell that to willie king who went to a tampa flordia hospital and they amputated the wrong leg. I think science tries to correct their errors, but they are not always able to correct their errors. Also, they can go long periods of time before they even are aware that they have made a error. For example, before sterile procedures how many people died from a infection because the doctors did not wash their hands? How many people died because the doctors bleed them to death? If you think they do not still make multiple errors today, then you have a lot more faith in human nature than I do.

I would not be surprised if they were all faked. I think that evolutionary theory is junk science and it does a very poor job of explaining what is going on. I understand there is some substance there that people try to cling to, but very little as far as I am concerned.

A person having the wrong leg amputated is not science, bad or otherwise--it's an incompetent surgery team. Medicine is an ongoing exploration and mistakes will always be made (hence it's better not to go to the hospital in July when the new batch of interns begins), but with science medicine can become more precise and less prone to error--but never free of it.

As for the length of time it takes science to correct its errors, what's that got to do with anything? Have you discovered every error you've ever made immediately after you made it? The point is that through the collective effort of scientists throughout the world most errors will be discovered and at least discarded, and, hopefully, a better explanation found based on the improved knowledge. Being able to admit and correct its mistakes is one of science's greatest strengths, not its weakness.

And of course scientists are making "multiple" mistakes today. Ever hear the phrase, "you're only human"? But with the peer review process research can be checked, verified or falsified, and improved upon. This is a great thing. Can you say the same for creationsim/id?

And while you are doing this, all of the actual scientists in the world will be using it as the unifying theory of biology, and figuring out more and more about the way the world actually works.

Evolution maybe considered the "Unifying Theory of Biology", yet it is probably the most controversial theory. A lot of evolutionary theory is based on sexual selection. So that would make the "unifying theory" a sex based theory.

Then you have a very poor understanding of the explanation it offers and the evidence that exists to support that explanation.

It depends on the procedure. There are people who are helped by medicine, but there are also people who are harmed by medicine. In fact doctors are considered by some to be the third leading cause of death in the USA, Causing 225,000 Deaths Every Year.
