The water level of Lake Kleifarvatn has fallen more than four meters (13 feet) within the last year, revealing a barren lake bed with steaming thermal springs.

"If you put your ear to the ground, you can hear the lake draining," said geologist Amy Clifton of the Nordic Volcanological Institute in Reykjavik, Iceland. "It sounds like water going down the sink."

Last year, during a leisurely Sunday drive, a geologist noticed a large gash in the landscape about 20 kilometers (13 miles) from Reykjavik and reported it to Clifton. When she arrived she found a fissureabout a foot wide and 400 meters (1,280 feet) longthat led directly into Lake Kleifarvatn and disappeared beneath the water.

Lake Kleifarvatn, which measured about six kilometers (3.7 miles) long and 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) wide last year, has shrunk dramatically. Now it is only 3.5 kilometers long and roughly 1.8 kilometers wide, said Clifton.

Kleifarvatn is draining at about one centimeter (one-third of an inch) a day, according to Clifton. "You can almost see the lake level drop," she said.

Summerhouses that were once mere steps from waterfront are now more than a kilometer away from the water's edge. The placid waters have dropped more than four meters in the last year. In their place is a barren lake bed speckled with sulphur-rimmed thermal springs that spit boiling water and mud.

Clifton spends much of her time mapping and measuring "rips, gashes, and holes" in the Icelandic landscape. Describing herself as a "walking pencil," because her treks are all mapped by global positioning system (GPS) technology, she investigates open cracks, torn vegetation, rock falls, sinkholes, and other disturbances and tries to determine what caused them.

But what phenomenon created the large fissure at Lake Kleifarvatn is an enigma. "I couldn't find an earthquake in our database that was big enough to cause such a huge rupture in the surface," said Clifton.

She and some of her colleagues think a "quiet earthquake" may be responsible. Explaining such a scenario, Clifton said the water may have "lubricated the fault lines, allowing them to slide quietly and slowly, preventing the shock waves that would normally accompany an earthquake."

The earthquake thought to be responsible for the fissure at Lake Kleifarvatn occurred last year on June 17, about 80 kilometers (49 miles) east in the South Icelandic seismic zone. "No one ever expected earthquakes in this region to affect the surface in the Reykjanes Peninsula, where Lake Kleifarvatn is located," said Clifton.

Clifton hopes to eventually understand the relationship between the movement of faults deep within Earth and their surface effects in the region. Such knowledge is important for mapping areas that may be subject to future hazards, especially in regions where the population is growing.

While the Lake's dramatic disappearance is, for Clifton, "alarming, interesting, and unusual," she and her colleagues assume the waters will return. The last time a similar event happened was in 1912, after a magnitude 7 earthquake, and it took about three decades for the water level to normalize, she said.

The North American plate is shifting westward and the European plate is moving eastward. In the middle is a "hot spot," which spews the magma that has created the island of Iceland. Iceland grows by two centimeters (three-fourths of an inch) every year because of stretching and building caused by the combination of plate movements and volcanic activity. .
Clifton said: "Iceland is a natural laboratory for studying this stretching and understanding the time scale on which these events occur."

Kleifarvatn's water level varies greatly depending on rain and snowfall in the surrounding hills. Therefore, no one thought anything out of the ordinary was happening when the water level began to drop in the summer of 2000. Eventually, it was discovered that the lake was draining down a fissure. The fissure had been created by a Magnitude 5.8 earthquake which was centered near the northeast corner of the lake. The lake is continuing to drain and no one knows for sure when it will stop. It is unlikely that the lake will completely disappear, since it is 97 meters deep at its deepest point.

Men call it scientific when they postulate that all things have always been as they are now, and that there have been no great moments of divine intervention, neither to create, to reveal, or to punish. All things continue as they were, according to the dictates of Modern science. In that regard it is totally impossible to comprehend the scientific reality of a young earth, while being dead in ones own trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). That is, it is only possible for a given individual to see the real world, after youve been given a new spirit, or a regeneration of your spiritual being occurs, which God himself has provided for all mankind on the basis of the anointing death of Christ. Being ignorant of this is to be ignorant of ones own rebellious position and condition, without any knowledge or any desire to accept the divine verdict that God is eternally satisfied with that passion which Jesus Christ accomplished in dying upon the cross as a substitute for you; it is to be likewise unaware that all the ordeal and the beating that Jesus suffered, the strokes of wrath which he endured, were also, all due you. It is also within the power of Gods will, to plant within you a new life, or to give you a new life, and then you also find that Jesus Christ is made unto you wisdom and righteousness also (I Corinthians 1:30). The man who has thus trusted in Christ is in fact lifted into the very mountain of God, to see the plan or plans of God. The ancients called it Mount Sion. However, as a partaker of the divine nature (II Peter 1:4) a person who continues to walk in his own will instead of in surrender to the will of God, possesses an astigmatism which makes him blind, so that he cannot see a far off. Some among you may say it is not science, some call it hand waving, when someone addresses these questions, from the point of view of the Bible, or when they begin to address things in heaven and eternity. Wanting to quiet a person who has suffered a near death experience, is like trying to tell someone who has been to France, that France doesnt exist! They are said to have escaped the corruption of this world. Thus, many others who have received Christ are also able to escape the corruption, and so II Esdras 2:36 tells us that in these last days that we are to flee from the shadow of this world, and receive the joyfulness of our glory.

There are persons who want to know the truth in terms of Gods word, and conversely, there are skeptics whose greatest comfort is any excuse they can find to hide themselves from the prodding of the Holy Spirit. While we all live, and then someday die - the entire educational system wishes to deny that fact, and to be on parade without prayer in any classrooms or in any way acknowledging the existence of God! And there are obviously, many who find refuge in the explanations or the supposed facts of geology, whereby they most of all are totally unaware that their forefathers often practiced or dabbled in a philosophy of deceitfulness, totally prejudicial against all and any form of religion, whose practitioners dedicated themselves to set up the wisdom of man in competition with, or totally opposed to, the wisdom of God. It has always been the way of the Gentiles, to mix their maxims of philosophy with other Christian principles, and thereby alienate the minds of many from the truth of Christ. Hence, there are those who all but worship, the various strata of the earths surface, sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal, sometimes upside down, and they bow down to this scidntific idol, which will never show them the higher secrets they seek, for example, in this case, how entire mountains were actually all twisted and tortured until they more or less lie in agonized heaps across the face of almost every country.

From the vantage point of there being a Mount Sion, however, in considering the ninth chapter of Job, we read: If he [God] will contend with man, he cannot answer him one of a thousand. He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength, who hath harden himself against him and hah prospered? (Job 9:3,4). And at this point thinking of the wreckage that came out of the first rebellion, Job goes on to describe the power of God in regard to the current earth, in terms of its being the result of the first judgement. . . which removeth the mountains, and they know not; which over turneth them in his anger. Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and [He has caused] the pillars [poles] thereof to tremble [being moved from the vertical]. Which commandeth the sun [not to shine], and it raiseth not; and sealeth up the stars . . . (Job 9:5-7) As unscientific as all this may appear, the shaking of the entire world is indicative of a great release of new matter, and a shifting of molecular forces so as to re-station the bonding points of those elements in the periodic table, and thereby bring to focus a new matrix, or a re-shaping of the geological, the plant kingdom, and the animal kingdom, so as to re-establish this world that we now live in, in keeping with the original world that was! For such an event to ever take place, the ongoing rapid meltdown and the breaking up of the polar ice caps of this world does appear as a sign, that was first attributed to global warming, and there is thus very good reason to believe that the whole earth will begin to tremble, once again! Granted, all this would be absolutely impossible without a change in the whole face of matter, thereby altering even the normal electromagnetic spectrum as we know it and yet according to the scriptures that is exactly, exactly(!) what does happen!

Moreover, the Bible, when taken in its utmost literalness, teaches that there was a perfect, created world, that was blasted to run and desolation after which it was re-formed and refashioned in the six days as the stage upon which the drama of sin and redemption was to take place. This explains how the blindness occurs. Men call it scientific when they postulate that all things have always been as they are now, and that there have been no great moments of divine intervention, neither to create, to reveal, or to punish. All things continue as they were, according to the dictates of Modern science. In that regard it is totally impossible to comprehend the scientific reality of a young earth, while being dead in ones own trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). That is, it is only possible for a given individual to see the real world, after youve been given a new spirit, or a regeneration of your spiritual being occurs, which God himself has provided for all mankind on the basis of the anointing death of Christ. Being ignorant of this is to be ignorant of ones own rebellious position and condition, without any knowledge or any desire to accept the divine verdict that God is eternally satisfied with that passion which Jesus Christ accomplished in dying upon the cross as a substitute for you; it is to be likewise unaware that all the ordeal and the beating that Jesus suffered, the strokes of wrath which he endured, were also, all due you. It is also within the power of Gods will, to plant within you a new life, or to give you a new life, and then you also find that Jesus Christ is made unto you wisdom and righteousness also (I Corinthians 1:30). The man who has thus trusted in Christ is in fact lifted into the very mountain of God, to see the plan or plans of God. The ancients called it Mount Sion. However, as a partaker of the divine nature (II Peter 1:4) a person who continues to walk in his own will instead of in surrender to the will of God, possesses an astigmatism which makes him blind, so that he cannot see a far off. (II Peter 1:9) All others, however, unable to see divine truth, fail to grasp He hath raised us up together (with Christ) and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:10). Indeed, it is from this vantage point of Mount Sion that we can see and we do, understand.

Some among you may say it is not science, some call it hand waving, when someone addresses these questions, from the point of view of the Bible, or when they begin to address things in heaven and eternity. Wanting to quiet a person who has suffered a near death experience, is like trying to tell someone who has been to France, that France doesnt exist! Meanwhile, the NDEer looks at everything he or she sees, in terms of the reality of their being another whole new life beyond this one, and it is often their fervent desire to see things on a much higher, a much more reverent level of thinking, than does any of the rest of the world. In other words, those persons have been released from the blindness, that has held all other men under its sway, ever since the fall of Adam. They are said to have escaped the corruption of this world. Thus, many others who have received Christ are also able to escape the corruption, and so II Esdras 2:36 tells us that in these last days that we are to flee from the shadow of this world, and receive the joyfulness of our glory.

There are persons who want to know the truth in terms of Gods word, and conversely, there are skeptics whose greatest comfort is any excuse they can find to hide themselves from the prodding of the Holy Spirit. While we all live, and then someday die - the entire educational system wishes to deny that fact, and to be on parade without prayer in any classrooms or in any way acknowledging the existence of God! And there are obviously, many who find refuge in the explanations or the supposed facts of geology, whereby they most of all are totally unaware that their forefathers often practiced or dabbled in a philosophy of deceitfulness, totally prejudicial against all and any form of religion, whose practitioners dedicated themselves to set up the wisdom of man in competition with, or totally opposed to, the wisdom of God. It has always been the way of the Gentiles, to mix their maxims of philosophy with other Christian principles, and thereby alienate the minds of many from the truth of Christ. Hence, there are those who all but worship, the various strata of the earths surface, sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal, sometimes upside down, and they bow down to this scidntific idol, which will never show them the higher secrets they seek, for example, in this case, how entire mountains were actually all twisted and tortured until they more or less lie in agonized heaps across the face of almost every country.

From the vantage point of there being a Mount Sion, however, in considering the ninth chapter of Job, we read: If he [God] will contend with man, he cannot answer him one of a thousand. He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength, who hath harden himself against him and hah prospered? (Job 9:3,4). And at this point thinking of the wreckage that came out of the first rebellion, Job goes on to describe the power of God in regard to the current earth, in terms of its being the result of the first judgement. . . which removeth the mountains, and they know not; which over turneth them in his anger. Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and [He has caused] the pillars [poles] thereof to tremble [being moved from the vertical]. Which commandeth the sun [not to shine], and it raiseth not; and sealeth up the stars . . . (Job 9:5-7) As unscientific as all this may appear, the shaking of the entire world is indicative of a great release of new matter, and a shifting of molecular forces so as to re-station the bonding points of those elements in the periodic table, and thereby bring to focus a new matrix, or a re-shaping of the geological, the plant kingdom, and the animal kingdom, so as to re-establish this world that we now live in, in keeping with the original world that was! For such an event to ever take place, the ongoing rapid meltdown and the breaking up of the polar ice caps of this world does appear as a sign, that was first attributed to global warming, and there is thus very good reason to believe that the whole earth will begin to tremble, once again! Granted, all this would be absolutely impossible without a change in the whole face of matter, thereby altering even the normal electromagnetic spectrum as we know it and yet according to the scriptures that is exactly, exactly(!) what does happen!

The Environmental Protection Agency has estimated that sea levels have been rising nearly a foot (0.3 meter) per century and will rise at least that much, possibly more, over the next 100 years. The EPA and the United Nations have both said that in a worst-case scenario -- depending on how much global air temperatures increase -- seas could jump 3 feet (1 meter) by 2100. (Based on "it isn't really happening is it?" time tables.)
And each vertical inch can translate into several horizontal feet of flat lowlands.
Many scientists expect that global warming will likely continue to warm the oceans for decades or centuries to come. And increasingly, experts warn that small islands, farmland and coastal cities occupied by hundreds of millions of people could be swamped. (Others dispute the extent and causes of global warming).
Either way, melting polar ice has so far not contributed significantly to the rising seas. Prevailing views hold that it could be between 100 and 1,000 years before enough polar ice melts to significantly affect sea levels.
But the latest evidence shows that floating sheets of ice, fed by major glaciers that inch inexorably to the sea, are at greater risk of breaking off during short periods of warm weather.

The researchers studied the crumbling Larsen Ice Shelf, a relatively small peninsula of ice that dropped an area of ice as big as Rhode Island into the sea between 1995 and 1998. This ice was already floating, and so had little effect on sea levels.
But in studying the Larsen shelf, researchers found that melting surface water, which can build up in just a few warm summers, seeps into cracks and forces a quicker-than-expected breakup.
"This result implies that other ice shelves are closer to the breaking point than we previously thought," says Ted Scambos of the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado.
"The Antarctic has been up to now a relatively minor player in sea-level rise," Scambos said in an interview. "But it is the 600-pound gorilla in a way."
Holding back the flow
Huge sheets of ice, larger than the Larsen shelf, act as dams that hold back virtual rivers of ice which extend far inland. If one of these lets go, a veritable gush of ice that had been resting on solid ground could flow rapidly into the sea.
Scambos said the new study shows that the Ross Ice Shelf, many times larger than the Larson shelf, could be at a critical juncture. If temperatures continue to rise, it could begin to break up in the next 20 to 50 years.
"It's clear that if you get rid of the ice shelf, then those things will flow much faster, explains Christina Hulbe, of NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center and a colleague of Scambos. "But it's not clear how much faster."
The study of these processes is in its infancy. And both researchers caution that much work needs to be done to determine any potential threat and how quickly it could come. It would still likely be 100 years, perhaps several hundred, before the process fed significant water into the sea.

But already, experts in many fields have warned that rising seas caused by global warming will gravely threaten beach areas around the world. A 1999 study by Britain's Meteorological Office concluded that rising global temperatures could force a 6-foot (1.8-meter) rise in sea levels during the next few centuries.
And while scientists debate the existence and extent of global warming, the sea is quietly gaining ground.
The Mississippi River Delta gave up about 16 square miles (41 square kilometers) of land to the Gulf of Mexico every year between 1930 and 1990. But the rate has accelerated in recent years to about 25 square miles (65 square kilometers) a year, according to a study released a year ago by University of New Orleans coastal geologist Shea Penland.
"We're living on the verge of a coastal collapse," Penland warned last January.
Some say New Orleans may be among the first major casualties. The city, which sits 8 feet (2.5 meters) below sea level at the mouth of the Mississippi, is protected by a system of manufactured levies and natural barrier islands. But many of the tiny islands are expected to disappear by 2050. Meanwhile, New Orleans is sinking, in a process called subsidence, at a rate of 3 feet (1 meter) per century.
Responding to the threat, the director of the U.S. Geological Survey, Chip Groat, issued a blunt warning in 2000: "With the projected rate of subsidence, wetland loss and sea-level rise, New Orleans will likely be on the verge of extinction by this time next century."
Ice experts say the greatest immediate danger doesn't even come from polar ice. Glaciers around the world are melting at ever-faster rates.
A 1999 study supported by the National Science Foundation found that the Columbia Glacier, near Anchorage, Alaska, was melting rapidly and had increased its forward speed from about 82 feet (25 meters) per day to around 115 feet (35 meters) per day. Researchers expect that within a couple of years the glacier might either begin breaking off icebergs at a rapid pace, or it could melt so quickly that it stops reaching the sea.
And less ice -- at the poles or anywhere -- means less sunlight is reflected and global warming is therefore accelerated. Water and earth, being darker than ice, absorb more sunlight and warm the whole planet.

Antarctic ice, if it breaks up more rapidly than expected, could add dramatically to the doom predicted by Groat and others.
Ice shelves are the enormous floating tongues of even larger land-dwelling glaciers. They grow and shrink, advance and retreat over decades. And now and then, large icebergs fall from their edges and crash into the sea. When air temperatures rise, more of the ice melts, setting up a catastrophic chain reaction.
Melted surface ice can form deep pools of water. The water forces its way into cracks in the ice shelf. It's there that the problem escalates.
"The weight of the water essentially forces the cracks open, so a relatively small amount of climate warming can destroy a large, centuries-old ice shelf," says Scambos, of the Snow and Ice Data Center.
Temperature data on Antarctica is scarce, but the researchers know that some areas have warmed several degrees in the past 50 years. NASA's Hulbe, who also works at the University of Maryland, used a computer model to recreate how this increased temperature caused the breakup of the Larsen ice shelf. She found that a water-filled crevasse just 15 to 50 feet (5 to 15 meters) deep could crack an ice shelf more than twice as deep as a football field is long.
"The importance of melt water implies that ice shelf stability may not be limited by the mean annual temperature, as has long been thought, but by the mean summer temperature," Hulbe said.
A chunk of ice the size of France.*
Possibly the greatest danger lies with the Ross Ice Shelf -- the largest mass of floating ice in Antarctica. The Ross shelf varies from 600 to 3,000 feet (182 to 915 meters) thick, covering an area about the size of France. It catches the outflow of several major glaciers and ice streams that drain ice from the continents interior.
A massive collapse of the Ross Ice Shelf could, in one fell swoop, cause a measurable rise in sea levels, the researchers say.*
"We need to monitor the summertime temperatures to see what the future holds for these ice shelves," says Hulbe.

What Is the Point!

Point Number 1. The actions involved in the movement of Greenland, are proof that the entire continent of Greenland has moved a few hundred miles. In that the evolutionists claim that nothing cataclismic ever happened, that in turn means there is in fact a very significant flaw in the overall system of evolutionary logic.

In other words, this means that the concept of the earth's features are not due to natural processes taking millions of years of time, and the idea of a vast span of time is completely wrong. Nor dud the fossil record emerge over millions of years and for this reason, when anyone reads an article like the following, the mind of man needs no longer be lost to the apostasy of evolution, or completely led astray by the pretense of a "supposedly vast" geological time frame.

"For the tourists and their scientific guides aboard the Russian icebreaker Yamal, it was an astonishing sight. Just as they approached the North Pole, they spotted a mile-wide hole in the ice. "It was totally unexpected," Harvard oceanographer James McCarthy, one of the scientists on board, later told the New York Times. Paleontologist Malcolm McKenna, of New York City's American Museum of Natural History, said, "I don't know if anybody in history ever got to 90[degrees] north to be greeted by water, not ice." Even more surprising, they saw ivory gulls soaring blithely overhead. The Times itself commented that the last time anyone could be certain the pole was awash in water was more than 50 million years ago."

Sometimes the openings can be hundreds of miles long, explains the Jet Propulsion Lab's Ronald Kwok, another Arctic observer.

Even so, the scientists did not dispute the many other signs of warming in the Arctic. It's just that one opening in the ice, even at the pole itself, doesn't mean a polar meltdown. But what about those ivory gulls? Aren't they pretty rare birds in a locale known more for fauna like polar bears? Not really, explains the Audubon Society's John Bianchi, who points out that the tough gulls are regular inhabitants of the Arctic Ocean. "If you've got open water at the pole or anywhere else up there," he says, "you're going to find these birds, because that's where they eat."

Should anyone fail to understand, this will spell it out. The whole system of logic in support of the geological time frame was little less than a long-term hoax designed to discredit all forms of religion, while setting aside all the evidences of the global, genesis flood or the Flood of Noah. Anyone who yet doubts this, please take a close look at the Piri Reis Map of 1513. It clearly shows the western coast of Africa, the eastern coast of South America, and the northern coast of Antarctica and an accurate map of the northern coastline of Antarctica, perfectly detailed - 300 years before the coastline was discovered by modern man. And at the time of its discovery, it was totally covered with many tons of ice! The same map when viewed, based on the concepts and ideas of modern geology, has led modern day geologists to the wrongly conclude that the latest date Queen Maud Land could have been charted in an ice-free state(!) would be 4000 BC!

1: Why do you claim that geology states nothing cataclysmic ever happened? All those mass extinctions don't just happen by themselves you know.
2: Greenland is not a mass sitting on top of the crust that can be flipped up and around. It is a part of the crust, like a colossal mountain. If it was ripped out of the crust to be moved as you claim it would lead to a catastrophic magma eruption and destabilisation of the crust that would destroythe entire surface of the earth.
3: If the intitial lifting was somehow survived, the crust certainly wouldn't survive greenland falling down again.

This thread is a great example of why schools need to stick to mainstream science in teaching and not try to provide time to teach all of the 'sides' or 'criticisms' of an issue.
If we teach Creationism, we would also have to teach **** like this because if you are going to teach one falsified theory, somebody always has another one and another 'side'.
