  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If evolution was found, undeniably false, this would already have to happen.
And if it were inaccurate, in some significant way, this would have already have happened.

Yet you do not accept it as accurate, correct?

In science a result must be predictable and repeatable. Divine meddling would have to meddle in the same way every time.
Or, not exist.

By the way, prayer does work. God always answers. Sometimes He says no.
Does this work in a statistically significant manner in comparison to praying to a jug of milk?

You cannot write fiction stranger than the documented events that are true.

1stholistic.com There is ample proof that prayer works. Many scientific studies have been conducted that validate this observation. An Israeli survey following 10,000 civil servants for 26 years found that Orthodox Jews were less likely to die of cardiovascular problems than "nonbelievers." And a study from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., monitoring 250 people after open-heart surgery concluded that those who had religious connections and social support were 12 times less likely to die than those who had none.
In an attempt to understand the depression that often accompanies hospitalization, Duke University researchers assessed 1,000 hospital patients; patients who drew on religious practices, including prayer, were found to cope far better than those who didn't.
Certainly, following a spiritual or religious lifestyle might lead to better health; the devout may be less likely to succumb to the hazards of smoking, drinking, and sleeping around. However, for the non-believers, it is hard to understand how intercessory or non-local prayer works. This is the situation when the sick persons are prayed for and don't even know it.
In the most widely publicized studies of the effect of intercessory prayer, cardiologist Randolph Byrd studied 393 patients admitted to the coronary-care unit at San Francisco General Hospital. Some were prayed for by home-prayer groups, others were not. All the men and women got medical care. In this randomized, double-blind study, neither the doctors and nurses nor the patients knew who would be the object of prayer.
The results were dramatic and surprised many scientists. The men and women whose medical care was supplemented with prayer needed fewer drugs and spent less time on ventilators. They also fared better overall than their counterparts who received medical care but nothing more. The prayed-for patients were: Significantly less likely to require antibiotics (3 patients versus 16) Significantly less likely to develop pulmonary edema-a condition in which the lungs fill with fluid because the heart cannot pump properly (6 versus 18). Significantly less likely to require insertion of a tube into the throat to assist breathing (0 versus 12). Less likely to die.
Even more incredible experiments in distance healing involve nonhuman subjects. In a survey of 131 controlled experiments on spiritual healing, it was found that prayed-for rye grass grew taller; prayed-for yeast resisted the toxic effects of cyanide; prayed-for test-tube bacteria grew faster. "I adore these experiments," says Larry Dossey, M.D., perhaps the world's most vocal expert on prayer and medicine. "Because they don't involve humans, you can run them with fanatical precision and you can run them hundreds of times. It's the best evidence of all that prayer can change the world. And it operates as strongly on the other side of the Earth as it does at the bedside."

"Dr. Richard P. Sloan, PhD, compared the Byrd and Harris studies with the sharpshooter fallacy, "searching through the data until a significant effect is found, then drawing the bull's-eye.""

"...a 2006 meta analysis on 14 studies concluded that there is "no discernible effect" while a 2007 systemic review of intercessory prayer reported inconclusive results, noting that 7 of 17 studies had "small, but significant, effect sizes" but the review noted that the most methodologically rigorous studies failed to produce significant findings."

The entire scientific community is chained by the need to never allow the TOE to be proven wrong.

Hmmm. I guess that's why it's undergone so many profound changes since Darwin first published it?

Any data, archeological finds, astrological discoveries, biological queries, anomalies of physics, or geological evidence that sheds even a shadow of a doubt on this coveted belief will be hidden, destroyed, explained away, or covered up and the person who presented it will be bullied, discredited, condescended and shamed for ever taking the first step in the process of shedding light on the farce that evolution is.

And I presume that you have plenty of, you know, EVIDENCE to support these ridiculous claims?

Oh that's right. You don't.

WHY?

Because, it is the plan of Satan himself to deceive and blind the humans of this earth and never let them see the real truth. Satan hates humans because God loves us. He challenged God and lost. As a result, he will harm as many of God's precious humans and lead them to their eternal demise in any way he can. What better way than having the earthly human view of "there is no God" as the dominant belief. If the one and only alternative to a divine creator and intelligent designer, is removed, then Occam's razor slices like a two edged sword and the great dynasty of "emperical science" crumbles.

This would result in the need to report to a Supreme being to answer for and explain the actions of our time on earth.

Satan wants that truth buried so deep that it will never rise to be seen.

Blah, blah, blah. More unevidenced claims. That it?

Let's look at my original text, shall we?

If evolution was found to be debunked and positively false and all the humans on the earth accepted the YEC. Whether it is right or wrong, true or false, myth or divine fact and that the scriptures in Genesis are literal.

How would this harm the human race, society, the well being of the world?

Please show me where I said "what harm would a lie do if it was universally accepted?"

If it is false, then it is a lie. Do you disagree?

Are you saying that there are no biologists out there that are believers of the YEC view? That outside of the TOE there is no explanation whatsoever?

Hmm, who is closed minded. Do you not have Google on your computer?
There are very, very few active biologists (doing research) who are YECs. That is the reality. Look at the people who are members of the ICR or AIG. Do they do actual research? For the most part, no.

Again, is there no scientist in any faction or dicipline that is a solid believer in the view of YEC? All of this work would just hault, and go into utter confusion?

That's quite a stretch.
Not really. It is very hard to be someone actively doing research in either biology or geology who is a YEC. The evidence you find just doesn't match up with YEC dogma. That is why most creationists with degrees in biology or geology don't do scientific research... they preach to their followers and do apologetics instead. There are exceptions, but they are few.

IF evolution was false, there would be no reason to hide all the data that contradicts it or blackball the scientists that don't cow tow to it's college of bullying "intellectuals".
What evidence that contradicts it? Show it to me.

Do you really believe that the TOE is the only concept that science supports? Sorry, empirical science.
As far as explanations for the diversity and distribution of life on earth, Yes.

Again with the "evidence card" The evidence is there, however, the data being presented by hard core TOE intellectuals is thrust at the world and the world is bullied if they question it. The subtle proof of the existence of God is overpowered by the lie Satan has created as a smoke screen to the truth. The people who consider themselves as intellectual heavy weights are the ones sucked in to this lie the strongest.
This is all assertion on your part.

Hard fast in your face evidence for Christ, creation, God and ID will never be found. That is not the design. You are to be saved, first, by faith. If you cannot take the word of God and the simple examples of His presence as enough... then you will not enjoy the vision of the real truth.
Why does reality contradict your religious dogma if it represents the truth?

Sorry but this is absolute garbage. I am a scientists. I would know.

Nothing but assertion and rhetoric based on your religious dogma... which I am sure, you never question.

I think you have that reversed -- unless you have the power to tell God what he can and cannot do.

Sure, you may reverse the wording.

And yet, the brighter the light, the darker the shadows it unavoidably casts.

Which part of the sun would you consider the brightest then?
How far away from the sun would you be to find a measurable shadow?

Possibly -- why are you afraid to look?

I'v covered that.
We don't have the time and it adds no value.

I encourage you to look to your dying day.
You may take that either way.

If prayer worked consistently, would we really need science? I mean, developing cures for cancer is nice, but if just praying would be enough to do it, what would be the point?

Prayer does work every time.
But you have no control over the result.
Once you get that, your prayers get changed
to match the coming result.

The other way around would be dramatic
but which football team could ever win?

But Satan allows for the science of semiconductors to proceed so that you personally can get on the internet to tell us all of the Satan-created conspiracy that buries the truth that the theory of evolution is actually wildly inaccurate, which it needs to be for your beliefs to be true.

Amiright?

That is an observation within our universe.

Modern cosmology observes the sum of matter and energy in the observable universe to be zero.

Zero-energy universe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you subscribe to some other cosmological model, please enlighten us.

Faulty premise, faulty conclusion.

And we do not know that what we observe within the cosmos can be applied prior to its instantiation.

It is believed not. That my point.

Does it matter what you believe?

Problem is, not all people are meant to be cured of there disease or have their problems removed.

You can pray, God will answer. If I get cancer and all my friends and relatives pray for me, God still may say no and call me home.

Prayer must always be concluded with the acceptance that God's will be done.

Oh good grief!

So the results from prayer are no different to not praying at all. Some people will get worse, some will get better and some will die.

It's true both ways. Sometimes doctors give up, and those who pray don't and a person recovers. Neither of the two have a 100% success rate, but from what I've learned MDs are not shy to call in the right person for the right problem at the right time. etc.

I believe it is the interpretation of data by evolutionist minds and any scientist or educated person of influence that contradicts it will be met with resistance and bullying tactics to enough of an extent to deter others from doing the same.

I would expect that to produce very limited shadows with much
