CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, it would, should the flood have happened your proposed 4500 years ago, and was dated, it would be more likely to err on the younger side than the older. But since there is no sediment pattern that suggests a global flood ever happened, it really doesn't matter. Not that every dating of fossils or strata is off by a significant extent.

Provide evidence that any deity was involved with that book that is stronger than people could make for any other religious text that ever existed.

1. No proof or evidence that the miracles Jesus performed weren't just exaggerations
2. Even of they were real miracles, Jesus isn't proof of god, miracles by themselves aren't proof of any specific deity, or any deity for that matter.
Yes, if I believe the bible as a literal interpretation I would agree with you, what else is new?

There was no global flood. You can either accept that the bible is describing a great local flood in all the world as known to the participants or that the bible is in error, those are your remaining choices.

The Bible may be a valuable book but not even it claims to be infallible. It was written by fallible men. There is no reason to assume that it is one hundred percent correct and that is a good thing. There is a lot wrong with the Bible besides just the creation story. That does not mean the creation story is worthless. It is still a good morality tale. And the Bible is full of those.
