In his book, 'His Name is Jesus" - The Mysterious Yeshua Codes,' by Yecov Rambsel, a devoted Jewish Christian, has left us a treasure of information he discovered out of exhaustive studies. These codes have been found only in the Hebrew Masoretic text of the Old Testament.

The coding Yacov found comes from the Hebrew Masoretic text and is not to be found in any other publication such as the Talmud, Mishnah, our Christian Bible, or any other religious publication.

Yacov has made an astonishing discovery (Of many) that God has encoded the names of Jesus and virtually everyone else that was involved in the tragic crucifixion of Christ over seven hundred years before the event. He found the encoded names of Jesus, the Nazarene, Messiah, the three Marys, the two high priests, Caiaphas and Ananias, Herod, Pilate and many of Christ's disciples in one small prophetic passage - Isaiah 53 - the greatest Messianic prophecy in the Old Testament. Furthermore, these names were encoded in Isaiah's prophecy in 740 B.C., more than seven centuries before Jesus was born. Can any unbiased observer of this evidence honestly claim that these codes refer to anyone other than Jesus of Nazareth?

The odds against these particular names and dates occurring by chance were calculated by the Israeli mathematicians as only one chance in 775,000,000!

The book is published by Frontier Research Publications, Inc., P.O. Box 129, Station "U". Toronto, Ontario M8Z 5M4.

ELS are interesting no doubt. I would consider them at the sod level of PaRDeS.

I messed with Bible codes 20 years ago. The skip interval could be set to any value you want. If all the hits only occurred at one particular interval I would say you were on to something.

Also, skip interval is only relevant if you assume that every LETTER in the Bible was given by God and that no letters have been added or dropped by copyists over the centuries.

Hebrew has virtually no vowels so how do you know what word you are reading? For example, if I were to write 'str', this could be 'star', 'store', 'steer', etc.

Also, how do you take modern words from other languages into Hebrew? There is no ancient Hebrew word for 'microchip' for example. How do you transliterate a name like 'Carl' or 'Brezhnev?'

I love that this phenomenon has been discovered. It was even accepted in a Scientific Journal. The odds were just too great to be coincidence. Another phenomenon is the use of sevens as a signature of God based on the work of Ivan Panin.

Did you do your research from the Hebrew Masoretic Text from which Yacov Rambsel did his? Keep in mind, the many names he found coded were hundreds of years prior to Jesus first advent generation, in OT Scripture. None of which has anything to do with our present generation.

The oldest complete manuscript of the Masoretic text is the Leningrad codex. It dates to about 1008 CE. How would you know if these names you mention were transmitted correctly? The Dead Sea Scrolls (about 200 BCE at the earliest) show minor variations in name spellings from the Leningrad codex. Even these minor variations throw out the usefulness of ELS.

The purpose of questioning you as to what source of material you had researched from, was that the Masoretic text is in Hebrew. Researching for codes in English texts of the Bible of of any other language has been proven to fail.

Although the existing copies of the Masoretic Text date back only to the tenth century, two other important textual evidences bolster the confidence of textual critics that it is accurate. The first is the successive discoveries of manuscripts at Qumran by the Dead Sea since 1947. These revealed portions of manuscripts several centuries older than any previously known. The second is the comparison of the Masoretic text to the Greek translation called the Septuagint (or LXX), which was written around 200-150 B.C. The oldest existing manuscripts date back to the fourth century A.D. Both the Septuagint and the Dead Sea Scrolls reveal an amazing consistency with the Masoretic Text, assuring us that God was indeed divinely and sovereignly protecting His Word through thousands of years of copying and translating.

Is used the Hebrew masoretic text from Davka. This was shortly after the Bible Codes book was published. I believe Drosnin was the author.

My logical problem with ELS sequencing is that it provides so many possible variations that it would appear that almost any name could be found in almost any text of any significant length.

That's one I don't have. If you've got it and it wouldn't be too much trouble, can you write out your favorite quote or two?

"Yacov Rambsel astonished biblical scholars and students alike with his astounding discovery of the Hebrew name of Jesus (Yeshua) encoded into virtually every messianic prophecy of the Old Testament. In "His Name is Jesus," Rambsel explores and explains this phenomenon and other new code discoveries that reveal behind doubt that Jesus is the Son of God. This book of impressive new evidence shows that only God could have inspired the writers of the Bible to record the Word of God. His Name is Jesus will challenge you to discover for yourself that the Bible is trustworthy and that Jesus is who He said He was."

You can proably find a copy for anywhere from $15 to #20 by doing a search engine for it. Ask for Yacov Rambsel, "His Name Is Jesus."

In the studies done by Yacov Rambsel, they all came from the Masoretic Text and do not work in any of the English printed Bibles.

Sod is the 4th level or layer of Torah interpretation. It is the secret or hidden meaning.

The oldest, complete Masoretic bible is just over a thousand years old. Quoting the wiki article also:' The precise order of consonantal letters represented in the Hebrew Masoretic Text was only finalized in its current form in the first century, largely through the energies of Rabbi Akiva. However, it is known from earlier versions, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, that the number of letters was not constant before this. The Bible code theory thus does not seem to account for these variations.[14],'

The only way the Bible codes have any value is if they reflect the actual spelling given by God. As the quote demonstrates, there is no evidence of fixed spellings prior to their finalization in the first century.
