  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

?? The Islamists worship Satan now?

They do.

Compare the Eschatology in the Qu'ran and the Sunni with the Eschatology in the Christian Bible and you'll find they match almost-perfectly, but told from opposite points of view.

So, if you're a Christian, and you believe in Christ, and that Christ is good... then Islam, who says that our Christ is evil and "false", means that Islam came from Satan.

It's just that a lot of people don't realize this, and are deceived. Don't hate the people, hate the evil source.

Good point, they believe you will feed them because they trust you. They would not believe you would feed them if they didn't trust you. I'll rephrase and say animals are not capable of gaining the knowledge we can gain. Which then implies that we are not capable of gaining the knowledge that God intrinsically has, because we are not God. Just like animals are not human.

But a person who can magic up cat food for an uncomprehending cat is obvious to the cat: it can jump all over it's human and feel the soft human flesh and hear the pained yelp as it digs it's claws in.

This implies that there is no god.

I think it's a slightly further leap to think that what you said implies there is no God, compared to what I said about the relationship between animals humans and God, implying there is God. I prefer to take shorter leaps of faith when believing something :)

Isn't saying I'm making empty assertions just an empty assertion? Notice what I just said there does have meaning behind it.

I think Arch may be talking about the fact that you seem to be saying "hey, what if x was true?" and not giving any reason to agree with you.

It would be like me saying "hey, what if terrorists had teleportation technology?". Without any reason to believe the assertion is true is it worth worrying about?

No, it's an observation.

Not an objective observation if you've already assumed my assertions are empty. Try assuming they are not empty and you might learn something new.

You haven't given me any reason to assume otherwise. You just make assertions, pretend that you've said something profound, and then walk away.

Completely different because what I'm talking about can explain why there are even terrorists in existence. See this is the higher knowledge thing that your failing to grasp, but you seem intellegent so I'm confident that in time you will grasp it :)

God bless!

You haven't shown that it can explain anything! You are making bold claims to "higher" knowledge, but you have done nothing to show that you actually possess such knowledge.

I only walk away for awhile then I come back with something new, in hopes that you'll see meaning in the new thing I'm saying :)

That's where we disagree. And that's what makes the world go around.

It's not completely different because you are saying "hey, what if terrorists were the result of actions of my god?" and then not going any further than that.

Additionally, why did your god need to invent terrorists when all they do is make terror?

He didn't invent terrorists, He created perfect free willed beings who chose a will that is opposite of His perfectly good will. This choice resulted in evil and terror. It's God's just wrath that will bring evil and terror to an end and its His perfect love that has made it possible for you to be freed from evil and terror through what Jesus freely chose to do on the cross. You should know this by now which is why I don't need to explain it any further, you just need to choose to accept it as true.

Let's get back to the first part.

It's not completely different because you are saying "hey, what if terrorists were the result of actions of my god?" and then not going any further than that.

Do you see the similarity?

"Solar" flares has been observed taking place on other stars.

http://www.universetoday.com/910/killer-solar-flare-on-another-star/

Had there been significant difference in the passage of time against ours, the astronomers would have noted significant "red" or "blue" shifting of the phenomenon as well as unusually slow or unusually fast progression of the event but we heard none.
It is only seen here, so must 'unfold' in time as we know it. It takes time...here. It also looks certain colors and ways here. So having a bright flare in a star does not mean what you think. Firstly the star could be small and close. (distance is wholly determined by time and if it doesn't exist the distances..hence sizes are totally wrong) That could mean it was not so massive as you thought! What we are seeing may not be the sort or radiation we assumed either...etc etc.
So we actually have proof that time progresses normally in other stars.
Sorry, not in any way is this remotely close to true.
Thus, estimates of stellar distances would be fairly adequate for illustration purposes and further studies but obviously not accurate enough to send a ballistic probe hitting/colliding with a specifically targeted distant star, a close approach may be possible though with our current data.
Forget it. Your whole universe model is a joke. Our space and time and laws may not even apply as one left the solar system, or general area.

Oh, I see, you mean inadvertently. But so does the whole world by that measure.
So, if you're a Christian, and you believe in Christ, and that Christ is good... then Islam, who says that our Christ is evil and "false", means that Islam came from Satan.
Right, but so did all religions...except the belief in the One True God.

We actually have two probes (Voyager 1 & 2) who has left the Solar System, one is already confirmed to have reached interstellar space.

Both probes are still okay and sending back telemetry and so far has not encountered any stars yet.....

And smells like a troll too??

First off this thread shouldn't even be here, way way off topic. This is dangerous for kids. We should be teaching kids to be smart, not dumb!

Irelevant since they are still on the fringes of the solar system.

They should know that cosmology is a total crock actually.
