East Coast Roller Coaster BASH 2011!

I started a thread about this in "Singles" but I'd like to include EVERYONE, so here it is

I'm a huge roller coaster/amusement park buff, and I wondered if any other CFers would be interested in meeting up together at a particular park for some amazing fun together This would be open to anyone, even if you don't like roller coasters!

The park that we're considering (tentatively) is Knoebel's in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Check out their website www.knoebels.com ! They are a FREE parking and FREE admission, family-oriented, old-fashioned park. They have award-winning food and rides.

Dates haven't been decided yet, but I'm open to anytime this summer, through Labor Day.

I don't check in on this forum too often, so feel free to PM me with any questions or comments

I'm on the east coast, and this would sound like a lot of fun if I didn't get sick on rollercoasters lol

They have LOTS of other rides, Kim! An amazing carousel (where you can still grab brass rings!), bumper cars, The Whip (my fave), a world-famous haunted house.. you should totally come! One of the best things about Knoebels is that you get in for free, and can pay per ride, so you don't pay, you know, $60 when you only ride a few things.

Oh yeah. He's the daredevil type. I guess I would be too if I didn't get sick on fast-moving rides. It's not that I don't like them, I just can't do it b/c of the nausea. It stinks!

Don't feel too badly. I used to be able to ride ANYTHING when I was younger. Now I have to be really careful about spinning rides (used to love the Tilt-A-Whirl, can't do it now) or rides that just go in circles (like the balloon race); they make me so dizzy I get off feeling green. But you'd still have options! Bumper cars, haunted house, log flume, etc And you don't pay for anything you don't ride!

If I hitch-hiked there and watched everyone else ride the rides...sure. I'm broker than broke at the moment. *sigh*

I think it would be fun (even though I don't like rollercoasters), but it is too far of a drive (like 10 hours) and I am saving my vacation time for other trips. If it was somewhere we could feasibly go for a weekend trip then it might be different. But then of course there's gas prices to be considered, as well.
