CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Does anyone listen to Ann Coulter anymore?

She, and those who love her, scare me.
So, what is this "reality" of which you speak? Is it Coulter's reality - liberals are treasonous, non-Christian countries should be invaded, the environment is there to be "raped", etc...what reality, Street Smarts?

I don't recall Michael Moore calling for anyone to be killed, or that Timothy McVeigh's error was in not targeting the New York Times building. Ann Coulter was even dropped by the National Review, which still retains a columnist that suggested putting Chelsea Clinton to death.

Agreed. Although I still think Ann Coulter and her ilk are at least a part of the problem, too. They are the ones that keep the pot on the boil and keep stirring it, so I don't think they should get off so lightly.

Man, Ann Coulter is just....crazy. It scares me that people like her actually have a following. She needs to fade away into the ether.

In my opinion the reason people FLOCK to talking heads like Coulter and Limbaugh is that it makes people feel better about themselves and their view point, they feel that since a famous or "influential" person has the same views as them that it then must mean their view is verified and credible.. or is right and any other is wrong. people on both sides of the fence are guilty of this... people need to remember that the only reason that these talking heads keep getting air time is because we are listing to them, th esooner we start turning THEM all off the sooner they are taken off the air and people will then be allowed to make a honest/personal unbiased assement of the events that surrond them, versus having a talking head tell YOU how YOU should feel about it,,,Just my opinion,
