Do You Remember When?

I had a Clarabelle marionette wanting a Howdy Dowdy though

I wasn't big on Howdy Doody. My brother and sister were. I was a Capt. Kangeroo kid.

They had a Howdy Doody 45 record called The Muscial Forest. I did dig that though.

I do remember Howdy Doody a bit when I lived in Ontario. not so much when we moved out to Alberta. Maybe it was over by then. However I did like a show called Stampede Wrestling when I was about 5 (my parents corrupted me lol) and all the Western shows like roy Rogers. hop along Cassidy etc.

That little kiddie was Noddy............no, that was his name.

There was a Canadian radio show we used to get on the BBC for the benefit of the Canadian troops in England during the war.........

It started out with a knock on the door....."Who's there?"
"It's the happy gang!"

"Well, come on in....."

It was a merry sing song type of show and everyone loved it......"

I remember listening to that show with my Mom when I was around 4 or so. I seem to remember it came on around lunch time. I loved it although can't remember too much about it except the opener. But it was one to one time with Mom so was all good. gg.

Speaking of old radio shows...does anyone remember "Fibber McGee and Molly"? Every show Molly would open the door to the hall closet and all of this noise could be heard as everything fell out of there.

In those days closets were so small and few in most houses...so I can see that as a possibility. Anyway, it always got a big laugh from the audience.

No, they are to put in the holes of 45 records to play on a 33 record player.

MIGS look like your friends are having a tea part without you, and that doll house had one too . was my favorite toy, wish I still had it ,spent alot of hours playing in imaginaryland.

I wonder if they finished the monopoly game. Every time we played we never got quite finished.

lol folks. Hi Pilgrimgal. Welcome to the Nest. I haven't seen you around here before. But then, I haven't seen me around here lately either. lol. Yeah, the bears musta wrapped up that game. I mean, we moved to Miami the next year. lol. Besides, that card table was in the way. lol.

I loved that doll house too Jojo. It was one of my favorite toys too. If not my favorite. I thought it was so cool that it had a toilet paper roll in the bathroom. lol. Did yours? That was my favorite Christmas when I got that doll house. It was one of the first things I saw under the tree when I looked down the stairs that morning. That and a stuffed toy monkey. (I was big on stuffed animals, ya know?)

no I was not fortunate to have a t.p roll in mine (lucky you,I am envious ) that I can remember.I did get a monkey too one year loved it ,it was a chimpanzee

I meant that the toilet paper roll was painted on. It wasn't an actual object. lol.

And I meant I got a chimp. lol. I will post a pic of it. It might be the same one you got.

boy, does that bring back memories. Later on they made an attachment to put on the record player for the 45's, it made things much easier.
