All I know is that there are some things that we will never totally understand; however, I agree to accept them because God's word says so.

Can anyone here totally understand God's love for this entire planet? No, but we know His love is there.

Or can anyone fathom eternity?

What about that God has always "been"..no beginning point at all...He has always been alive? Now that makes my brain hurt to think about that one.

Some things we just know, don't understand, but accept.

I voted not sure. Salvation is dependant of what you believe about Jesus. If you don't believe He is the sone of God, God made flesh, I'm not sure if you're really believing in the real Jesus at all. Can someone believe that Jesus is a mere man and still be saved by His blood? I don't know for sure. It could be equal to believing a false Christ.

I believe there are many things that are hard for our limited human minds to truly understand, like how Jesus can be 100% God and 100% human or how we can be predestined and still have to choose (free will),

It is hard to understand, and we just have to pray and study His word.

I didn't fully believe in the trinity until about two or three years ago, but I have been a Christian for 16 years and have studied the Bible for about 17 years. I have never seen anything in it that says we either have to accept the Nicene creed or remain unsaved. Salvation is through faith in Christ, not through faith in a creed.

Besides, when I first got saved, I didn't even believe that Christ was God. Thank God He met me where I was and saved me even though my faith and understanding was imperfect! All I knew was that I wanted a relationship with God but was alienated from Him because of my sin, and God sent Christ to atone for my sin through death on the cross. I believed that and God accounted to me as righteousness. :)

This poll is for me to review the general opinion of all who responds.

thankyou for taking the time to answer

Hello :)

I just got home from bible study tonight. Something was mentioned tonight that I thought you might be interested in hearing. We were talking about how real the trinity is and its nothing to be messed with. Its so awesome and more then we can even imagine it to be. What I thought was interesting is in Mark 1: 9-10 it shows you in one event the trinity....Father speaking from heaven, the Holy Spirit decending like a dove onto Jesus. Father, Son & Holy Spirt all being shown together during Jesus' baptism.

I am not sure if this was any help or not. But I just wanted to share it with you. :)

God Bless!
newbeliever :)

Wow

Thankyou for replying, here I was thinking that I had no eternal life or security because I can't comprehend trinity and everyone else can. This will run for a week, then I hope to respond in a long post. Basically since I left my former religion I have felt 'lost' and fluctuate between security of my salvation (30%) and despair that I may have missed the mark (70%).

Thankyou again

Your Not alone James. No one understands the trinity and anyone who says they do, well is misguided. As everyone else said its a mystery that I just believe in. Scripture Mentions, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All 3 are distinct yet they are all still the same God. Its a wonderful yet mind-boggling concept. :)
