CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nearly 20 years in the desert and I like sand and dislike water.
Speaking of cowboy bars, in my hometown, there is a coffee shop that used to be a cowboy bar. They still have the bar and railing and in the bar's railing there are many etchings by people who were bar patrons. The coffee shop proprietor talks about how there were gun fights in that bar in the 80s.
I was evil once. I went up to some tourists and mentioned how the proprietor failed to mention that the gunfights were in the 1980s, not the 1880s.
(Which according to a few trusted locals, it was true, there were occasional gun battles there up until the late 1980s.)

I can see how it could freak someone out. I love the water though. I like to take frequent trips to the beach at night. It's so peaceful then and I just love the way the moon reflects off of the water. You should definitely go! It's really awesome

Yes. I was attracted to her the first time I saw her. I never did anything about it...and I'm still attracted to her. I don't even know her name. The way she presents herself...timid, fearful...yet...genuine, tender. It's crazy. Why on my knees praying for her? I feel a fool...

Those who've known me since I came here might remember that I cut my hair in December '08. I tend to go in cycles; grow it for about 2 years, hate it, cut it off, miss the long hair, grow it for another 2 years, hate it again, cut it off again. I've literally been going through this ritual my whole life lol. I don't have the time, money, or desire to constantly maintain any one hairstyle. When it's short, I dream of it being long, but once it's long, it's so heavy and thick and frizzy that I can't do anything with it, so I start dreaming about how cute it is short, etc etc etc.

I wonder if men can ever understand the horror that happens when a woman with really, really long hair has it all cut off and the stylist RUINS it! You can't reverse time, you've lost what you had just minutes before, you suddenly think "Oh my gosh, I'll have to wait YEARS to get that back!"... it's the most awful feeling lol.

Yes, I can style it, but it takes too much time and effort, and I'm just too busy and too not-vain to care about it much. Everyone always asks me "Oh, are you going to grow it out again? It looks so good long!"
Maybe this time I'll learn, and KEEP it short! I can actually do so much more with it; barrettes, clips, headbands, etc. I can't do any of that when it's long because it's so heavy, it won't stay up.
