I already did, now answer the question. What constitutes work?Read the original Sabbath commandments. (Ex. 16, Ex. 20, Duet.5) No work, but anyone.
Can you find the wife?
There will not be any manna to gather on the Sabbath day (Exodus 16:26). Did the children of Israel work for any man while they walked by faith in the wilderness?God ordered that a man be stoned to death for gathering firewood on the Sabbath.
Do you suppose that was his occupation?
We know the law changes based on location and time. Exodus 35:3 Do not light a flame "in your tents"". You are not to gather manna or sticks outside your tents.
It is not only about kindling a fire, but location and time are also included in the command from YHWH.A tent is a habitation. It is also about creation...of a flame.

This is certainly a plausible explanation. I would like for you to explain what exactly constitutes work? Of course the children of Israel are out in the dessert living in tents. Why would anyone kindle a fire inside their tents during the hot day? Imagine a man gathering sticks to kindle a fire during the heat of the day.So in your opinion, it would NOT be OK to start your car if it were in your garage, but if you park it outside it is OK? But the driveway is part of your property, habitation, so you would have to park it out on the street to start it?

What would constitute work when the command was given? If you were to walk to a destination it could constitute work under certain conditions.Constructive, creative effort. Commerce as in a job where you get paid, buying or selling, etc. Melakhah. Habitations are where you live. To gather wood and kindle a fire to cook would be a reason....but not on Shabbat. Shabbat is a time set apart from the rest of the week...a separation of the holy from the mundane.

You mean WAS it lawful. Mankind is not under the Sinai covenant. We are all under the covenant promised to Israel in Jeremiah 31. Rabies are not priests and Jews don't sacrifice animals. Is it lawful for the priests to perform sacrifice during the Sabbath?
All those are excuses and you believe you will stand in the judgment as one under the Law and God asks you about what you did on the Sabbath, the above excuses God won't buy one hair on your head. We are not under the works of the Law. Our works are, in God's eyes, are nothing but filthy rags. Of course you deny that and insist we are under the Law. It seems like you don't trust Paul's writingsIs it lawful for a father to circumcised his son on the eight day, when that 8th day is also the Sabbath? Is it lawful for the priests to work in the temple during the Sabbath? Is it lawful to walk by faith to the temple to worship YHWH during the Sabbath? Are the priests required to finish all of their work in six days? There was no manna to "gather" on the Sabbath day; however there was something for the disciples to pluck in the field.
So you judge my observance of Torah law? (Colossians 2:16)You mean WAS it lawful. Mankind is not under the Sinai covenant. We are all under the covenant promised to Israel in Jeremiah 31. Rabies are not priests and Jews don't sacrifice animals.
What do the priests duties have to do with you observing the Sabbath according to Is 58?

We uphold the law (Romans 3:31). Do you wish to tear down that which Paul the son of a Pharisee upholds? You mean WAS it lawful. Mankind is not under the Sinai covenant. We are all under the covenant promised to Israel in Jeremiah 31. Rabies are not priests and Jews don't sacrifice animals.

It seems you do not read very well. God is the judge. What makes you believe that you are able to keep the Sabbath any better than the Israelites did?So you judge my observance of Torah law? (Colossians 2:16)
Do not judgeIt seems you do not read very well. God is the judge. What makes you believe that you are able to keep the Sabbath any better than the Israelites did?
Do not judge, especially when you are not qualified to judge any man that honors Sabbath (Matthew 7:1). Who said that honoring Sabbath was a competition, that men attempt to observe Sabbath "better" than their ancestors? A son is like his father; but wisdom teaches me that a son can never become greater than his father. It seems you do not read very well. God is the judge. Sure we do, but that does not mean we are under the law. All the law could do is point out sin.We uphold the law (Romans 3:31). Do you wish to tear down that which Paul the son of a Pharisee upholds?
Why do you insist on writing that I judge? I have never indicated such. Do you judge me for not being observant to the now-defunct Sabbath of the old covenant? Why would I have a need to observe a day in commemoration of escaping Slavery in Egypt? That was Israel's duty to do.Do not judge

You "profane the Sabbath" with your tongue by calling it "defunct"; you are no priest. Why do you insist on writing that I judge? I have never indicated such. It certainly is defunct. It along with all the ritual laws of the Sinai covenant are defunct. You "profane the Sabbath" with your tongue by calling it "defunct"; you are no priest.
